Town and Country Planning Act 1953—County of Whakatane

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 20 (1) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, the approval granted to the Whakatane County Council to prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme by five sections as described in the Gazette, No. 51, 18 July 1957, page 1330, has been varied, and approval has now been granted to the Whakatane County Council to prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme by three sections as follows:

1. Whakatane-Ohope Section, described in the Gazette, No. 51, 18 July 1957, page 1330.
2. Edgecumbe Section, described in the Gazette, No. 51, 18 July 1957, page 1330.
3. The remainder of the County of Whakatane.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953—Gore Borough Council (Notice of Extension of Period of Effectiveness of Refusals and Prohibitions)

PURSUANT to subsection (6) of section 38 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the period of effectiveness of each refusal or prohibition made by the Gore Borough Council in the interests of the Gore Borough district scheme, which refusal or prohibition but for this notice would expire between the date of public notification hereof and the 1st day of November 1962 inclusive, is hereby extended to the said 1st day of November 1962.

Notice of Small-arms Firing Practices

It is hereby notified that small-arms firing practices will take place from time to time, both day and night, in the area known as the Vernon Rifle Range, situated on the eastern side of Taylor Pass Road and on the southern side of Wither Road near the town of Blenheim and being the area described in the Schedule hereunder.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land being Section 1 and part Sections 14 and 15, Block III, Taylor Pass Survey District, comprising 570 acres, more or less, and bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the eastern boundary of Section 1, Block III aforesaid, with the southern side of Wither Road and proceeding westerly along the southern side of Wither Road for a distance of approximately 180 yd to its intersection with the eastern side of Taylor Pass Road; thence southerly along the eastern side of Taylor Pass Road for a distance of approximately 1,110 yd to its intersection with the southern boundary of Section 1, Block III aforesaid; thence easterly for a distance of approximately 120 yd along the southern boundary of Section 1, Block III aforesaid; thence on a bearing of 186° for a distance of 990 yd; thence on a bearing of 172° for a distance of 1500 yd; thence on a bearing of 82° for a distance of 1,050 yd; thence on a bearing of 352° for a distance of 1,500 yd; thence on a bearing of 338° for a distance of 1,030 yd; thence on a bearing of 329½° for a distance of approximately 150 yd to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Section 1, Block III aforesaid; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Section 1, Block III aforesaid, for a distance of approximately 870 yd to the point of commencement.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Reservation of Land and Declaration That Land be Part of the Wanaka Islands Domain

PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a reserve for recreation purposes, and further, pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, declares the said reserve to be a public domain, subject to the provisions of Part III of the last-mentioned Act, to form part of the Wanaka Islands Domain to be administered as a public domain by the Domain Board.
