Defining the Limits of the Southland Harbour Pilotage District
COBHAM, Governor-General
PURSUANT to section 211 of the Harbours Act 1950, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby define the limits of the Southland Harbour Pilotage District, within which pilots may act for the purposes of the said Act, to be all the waters within the harbour of Bluff having as their outward seaward limit the arc of a circle running from the southern landward boundary of the foreshore north-eastward of Stirling Point and thence into Foveaux Strait and thence to the landward boundary of the foreshore south-westward of Stirling Point, such arc being the arc of a circle 2 nautical miles radius having as its centre the signal station flagstaff at Stirling Point, sited at 46° 36′ 50″ S, 168° 21′ 37″ E.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 18th day of September 1961.
