Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a marae, community centre, meeting place, landing place, recreation ground, church site, and burial ground for the common use and benefit of the Maori people of the City of Wanganui and the surrounding districts.

Pursuant to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Hawke’s Bay Rabbit District Order 1961.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. - The boundaries of the Hawke's Bay Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 5th day of January 1887,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE HAWKE'S BAY RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the South Auckland, Wellington, and Hawke’s Bay Land Districts containing 605,000 acres approximately, bounded by a line commencing at the source of the Rangitikei River, near Trig. Station D, Ngapuketurua, in Block VII, Waiotaka Survey District, and proceeding easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 41, Maungarangi, in Block VII, Ahipaepae Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the middle of the Mohaka River at its confluence with the Mangatanguru (Kowhai) Stream; thence down the middle of that river to its intersection by the production of a right line through Trig. Station 68A in Block XIII, Kaweka Survey District, and Trig. Station 65A in Block XXI, Kaweka Survey District; thence south-westerly along that line to the said Trig. Station 65A; thence south-easterly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station H, Don Juan, in Block V, Patoka Survey District, to the middle of the Donald River; thence down the middle of that river to and down the middle of the Tutaekuri River to the sea coast; thence southerly along the sea coast to and up the middle of the Tukituki River to a point in line with the middle of River Road in Block I, B
Kidnapper Survey District; thence westerly to and along the middle of that road to and along the middle of the Hastings-Waimarama road, through the Borough of Havelock North and north-westerly to the middle of Heretaunga Street in the City of Hastings and along the middle of that street to and along the middle of Omahu Road and along the middle of the Hastings-Fernhill road to and northerly generally along the middle of No. 50 State Highway to the middle of the Ngaruroro River; thence up the middle of that river to and up the middle of the Taruarau River, to and up the middle of the Ikawatea Stream, to and up the middle of the Makirikiri Stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4711, Wellington Land Registration District; thence westerly along that boundary to W (pipe on D.P. 4711) on the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence southerly generally along that summit to the south-western boundary of the Hawke’s Bay County as described in Gazette, 1960, page 1316; thence north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 30 (Aorangi) in Block XI, Pukeokahu Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 32 (Papakai) to the middle of the Rangitikei River; hence up the middle of that river to its source, being the point of commencement.

Exempting Land in the South Auckland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925
COBHAM, Governor-General
Pursuant to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE
The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.
SCHEDULE
All that piece of land containing 3 roods 31·5 perches, more or less, being Lot 2 on a subdivisional plan of part of Allotment 62B, Koheroa Parish, and part of Section 1s, Kopuku No. 2 Settlement, and being part of the land in certificate of title, Volume 683, folio 228 (Auckland Land Registry), excepting therefrom all coal, fireclay, and other minerals within the said land, which is more particularly delineated on Plan 5/1/89-2 filed in the Head Office of the Mines Department at Wellington.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 22nd day of August 1961.

Pursuant to the Cemeteries Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint James Lucas, of Upper Hutt, William Albert Weldon, of Pauatahanui, Ormond Michael Lane, of Pauatahanui, Arthur Neville Burt, of Paraparaumu, Neil Graham Taylor, of Pauatahanui, and John Douglas Barclay, of Pauatahanui, to be the managers of the Pauatahanui Burial Ground in place of the said John Douglas Barclay and of Benjamin John Mitchell Brown and James Gray, who have died.
