HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, hereby declares the Te Awamutu Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 28th day of September 1949,* the Waipa Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 25th day of February 1959,† the Tuhikaramea Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 4th day of April 1938,‡ the Wharepuhunga-Korakonui Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 4th day of November 1935,§ the West Waikato Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 8th day of August 1932,∥ the Ohaupo Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 1st day of February 1944,¶ and the Waikato Central Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 17th day of October 1932,** to be united and to form one district having the name of the Te Awamutu Rabbit District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto; and further declares that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE TE AWAMUTU RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Waipa, Otorohanga, and Matamata Counties, the Boroughs of Te Awamutu, Cambridge, and Otorohanga, and Ohaupo and Kihi-kihi Town Districts, containing 487,300 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Mangakotukutu Stream and the Waikato River in Block II, easterly up the middle of that river and Arapuni Lake to and south-westerly up the middle of the Waipapa River and the Tongatongarerewa Stream to the intersection of the northern boundary of part Wharepuhunga 17A; thence westerly along that boundary and the northern boundary of part Wharepuhunga 17A (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1920, page 2119) to and southerly along the western boundary of the last-named part 17A and part Wharepuhunga 20 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1920, page 2119), and that last-named boundary produced to the middle of a public road; thence westerly generally along the middle of that road forming the generally northern boundary of Sections 15, 12, and 9 to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 9; thence along a right line to and south-westerly and south-easterly along the aforesaid north-western boundary, and the north-western and south-western boundary of Section 13, all the said sections being of Block II, Ranginui Survey District, to the intersection of the last-named boundary with the eastern boundary of Block I, Ranginui Survey District; thence southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of the said block to the intersection of the middle of the Tunawaea Stream; thence south-westerly down the middle of that stream to the confluence with the Waipa River in Block VII, Pakaumanu Survey District, and northerly generally along the middle of that river to a point in line with the production westerly of the southern boundary of part Allotment 122, Tuhikaramea Parish, in Block VII, Alexandra Survey District; thence easterly along a right line to and along the southern boundaries of parts Allotments 122, 121A, 121, 120, 119, and 118, a right line crossing a public road, the southern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 29819, Lot 1, D.P. S. 4225, part Lots 7 and 13, D.P. 20493, a right line along the southern end of a public road, the southern boundary of Lot 18, D.P. 20493, a right line crossing a public road and along the southern boundary of part Lot 16, D.P. 20493, to the south-eastern corner of the said part Lot 16; thence along a right line to and easterly generally along the middle of a public road passing through parts Allotments 143, 144, 145, and 146 and forming the southern boundary of Allotment 438, and the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments 439 and 424, to its junction with another public road; thence northerly generally along the middle of that road to its junction with another public road forming the northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 12958; thence easterly generally along the middle of that road and Collins Road to and across the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence northerly along the eastern side of the said railway to and generally
south-easterly along the boundary of the City of Hamilton as described in Gazette, 1959, page 467, to the point of commencement.
