Annual Statement
In the matter of the New Zealand Insurance Co. Trust Act

I, Walter Adolph Race, General Manager (Trust Department),
do solemnly and sincerely declare:

  1. That the liability of the members is limited.
  2. That the capital of the company is £6,000,000 divided into
    6,000,000 shares of £1 each.
  3. That the number of shares issued is 4,080,000.
  4. That calls to the amount of £1 per share have been made
    under which the sum of £4,080,000 has been received.
  5. That the amount of all moneys received on account of
    estates is £82,039,340 2s. 11d.
  6. That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates
    is £81,553,207 10s. 4d.
  7. That the amount of the balance held to the credit of
    estates under administration in the company’s trust bank
    accounts is £486,132 12s. 7d.
  8. That the liabilities of the company at the close of its
    financial year (to wit, the 31st day of May 1961) were Debts
    owing to sundry persons by the company, viz: On judgment,
    nil; on specialty, nil; on notes or bills, nil; on simple contracts,
    £930,756; on estimated liabilities, £4,008,497.
  9. That the assets of the company on that date were:
    Government securities, £5,068,206; bills of exchange and pro-
    missory notes, nil; cash at bankers and in hand, £1,215,070;
    other securities, £11,369,773.
    And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing
    the same to be true by virtue of the Oaths and Declarations
    Act 1957.

    NAPIER CITY COUNCIL
    NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL
    PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
    1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of
    the City of Napier taken on 22 July 1961 on the proposal of
    the above-named local authority to raise a loan of £90,000, to
    be known as the Streets Widening and Purchase of Property
    Loan 1961, £90,000, for the purpose of purchasing properties
    for the site of the proposed Administration Centre and for the
    extension of Station Street and widening of Dalton Street, and
    the acquisition of land relative thereto, resulted as follows:

    WHANGAREI HARBOUR BOARD
    RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
    PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
    Whangarei Harbour Board hereby resolves:
    “That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
    loan of £128,250 authorised to be raised by the Whangarei
    Harbour Board under the above-mentioned Act and in terms
    of the Whangarei Harbour Board Empowering Act 1960 for
    the erection of industrial premises at Whangarei, the said
    Whangarei Harbour Board hereby makes a special rate of
    twenty-three one-hundredths of one penny (23/100d.) in the
    one pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of
    Whangarei Harbour district, comprising the Borough of
    Whangarei, the Town Districts of Kamo and Hikurangi, and
    the County of Whangarei excepting out of such county that
    portion thereof comprised in the Waipu River District as
    defined in Proclamation published in the Gazette on the 1st
    day of March 1900. That the special rate shall be an annual-
    recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable
    yearly on the 12th day of January in each and every year
    during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or
    until the loan is fully paid off.”
    The foregoing resolution was passed at the ordinary monthly
    meeting of the Whangarei Harbour Board held on the 24th day
    of July 1961.

    MOUNT EDEN BOROUGH COUNCIL
    RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
    Water Works Loan 1961, £255,000 (Portion £40,000)
    PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Mount
    Eden Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
    “That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
    a loan of £255,000 authorised to be raised by the Mount Eden
    Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for carrying
    out repairs, renewals, and improvements to the water reticula-
    tion, the said Mount Eden Borough Council hereby makes a
    special rate of seven decimal nine six six pence (7·966d.) upon
    the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of
    Mount Eden; and that the special rate shall be an annual-
    recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable
    yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during
    the currency of the loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years,
    or until the loan is fully paid off.”
    I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a
    meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council held on the
    24th day of July 1961.
