HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Wanganui Rabbit District Order 1961.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
- The boundaries of the Wanganui Rabbit District, which was formed by Order in Council on the 21st day of March 1956,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WANGANUI RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Counties of Waimarino, Wanganui, and Rangitikei, Boroughs of Ohakune and Raetihi, and City of Wanganui, containing 748,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Wanganui River due west of peg XLVIII

on the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block I, Whirinaki Survey District, on S.O. 16860, and proceeding due east to the said peg; then easterly generally along the said north-western boundary of Section 2 and the generally northern boundary of Section 1, Block I, Whirinaki Survey District, to the north-western side of Te Mata Road, along a right line to and along the generally northern boundaries of Sections 2 and 3, Block II, and Section 11, Block III, Whirinaki Survey District, to and along the south-western side of the Raetihi-Ohura road to the easternmost corner of the said Section 11, along a right line to and along the north-western, northern, and eastern boundaries of Section 9, the north-eastern boundary of Section 8, Block III, the northern, north-western, and north-eastern boundaries of Section 7, Block IV, Whirinaki Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to and along the generally northern boundary of Section 6, the generally north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 3, Block IV, Whirinaki Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Maungaroa Road; then south-easterly generally along the middle of that road and the Ruatiti-Erua road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block I, Manganui Survey District, to and along that boundary and the generally north-eastern boundaries of Sections 6 and 7, Block V, Manganui Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to and along the middle of the Makino Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 4, Block VI, Manganui Survey District, to and along that boundary and the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 4, to and along the south-western boundary of Section 24, Block VII, Manganui Survey District, and its production to the middle of the Manganuioteao River; then easterly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 2 of Section 18, Block VIII, Manganui Survey District, to and along that boundary and its production to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 2 of Section 13, Block VIII, Manganui Survey District, and its production to and up the middle of the Makatote River to and up the middle of the Ngahuinga Stream to its source, along right lines to Trig. Station Kohatu and to Trig. Station H (Paretetaitonga), in Block XII, Ruapehu Survey District; then southerly generally along right lines to Trig. Station Ruapehu and to the source of the Mangaehuehu Stream, down the middle of that stream, the Tokiahuru Stream, and the Whangaehu River to its confluence with the Koukoupo Stream in Block XI, Ngamatea Survey District; then south-easterly generally up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 69, Block XVI, Ngamatea Survey District, to and along that boundary and its production to and along the middle of Hales Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 63, Block XIII, Maungakaretu Survey District, to and along that boundary and the southern boundary of the said Section 63 to and along the generally western and south-western boundaries of Section 66, Block XIII, Maungakaretu Survey District, along a right line to and along the western boundary of the southern part of the said Section 66 and its production to the middle of the Turakina River; then south-westerly generally down the middle of that river to the sea coast; then north-westerly along the sea coast to the middle of the mouth of the Wanganui River; then northerly generally up the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
