UNDER THE MINING ACT 1926
APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR A WATER RACE
Pursuant to the Mining Act 1926, the undersigned, Thomas James Thomson, of Glenorchy, runholder, and the Trustees Executors and Agency Co. of New Zealand Ltd., hereby applies for a licence for a water race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Mark on pegs: TX.
Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 3 p.m., 10 May 1961.
Date and number of miner's right: 10 May 1961, No. 452, 10 February 1961, No. 97917.
Address for service: Care of Messrs Bodkin, Sunderland, and Depree, solicitors, Alexandra.
Dated at Alexandra this 26th day of June 1961.
SCHEDULE
Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed, e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise: Commencing in River Bank Reserve at the old Earnslaw Creek Bridge in Block I, Earnslaw Survey District, and running in a south-westerly direction for 3322 links through Section 37, Block I, Earnslaw, then south-easterly for 899 links then south-westerly for 2166·9 links then southerly still through said Section 37, Block I, and crossing Glenorchy Paradise.
Road under cattle stop and through Sections 7 and 8, Block I, Earnslaw, a distance of 2199·2 links and discharging into swamp.
Length and intended course of race: 8587·1 links south-westerly and south.
Points of intake: One in Earnslaw Creek.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Three months, £250.
Mean depth and breadth: 6 ft by 18 in.
Number of heads to be diverted: 10.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Generating power and irrigation.
Proposed term of licence: 21 years.

Objections must be filed in the Registrar's office and notified to applicant at least three days before the time so appointed.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.
STATUTORY REGULATIONS
Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of general legislative force are no longer published in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements:
(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing) subscription £2 per calendar year in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, 35s. per volume. (Volumes for years 1936-37 and 1939-42 are out of print.)
(3) Separate regulations as issued.
