Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to John Daniel Sinclair, of Alexandra, builder (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from an unnamed stream (hereinafter referred to as the said stream), situated in Block XII, Haast Survey District in the County of Vincent, for the purposes hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 1 cubic foot per second at any one time.

CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
- Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the said stream at a point in Block XII, Haast Survey District, as indicated on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 539 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
- The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan N.Z.E.D. 539:
(a) Headworks consisting of an intake with a pipeline leading to the powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 350 ft.
(b) Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity situated in Block XII, Haast Survey District.
(c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse back to the said stream.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1982.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be a direct-current system as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.
RENTAL
- For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this licence, the maximum generating capacity at the commencement of this licence is 0·75 kW.
NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED
- Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the licensee any right to water.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to John Alexander Bell and John Creighton Bell, both of Waihaorunga, Waimate, sheep farmers (hereinafter referred to as the licensees), a licence, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from an unnamed stream (hereinafter referred to as the said stream), situated in Education Reserve 2003, Block XIII, Waihao Survey District, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding one-third of a cubic foot per second at any one time, and to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines hereinafter described.

- The licensees are hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 106733.
(a) Headworks consisting of a weir and intake with a head race and pipeline leading to the powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 96 ft.
(b) Powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity situated in Education Reserve 2003, Block XIII, Waihao Survey District.
(c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse to an unnamed stream.
(d) Electric lines leading from the said powerhouse in a south-westerly direction across a road to the licensees’s farm buildings situated in Education Reserve 2003, Block XIII, Waihao Survey District.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and shall be a direct-current system at a normal rated pressure of 250 volts.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1982.
RENTAL
- For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this licence, the present plant is rated at 2 kilowatts.
NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED
- Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the licensees any right to water.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the First Schedule hereto and the interest in land described in the Second Schedule hereto, held by Margaret Alva Reo, wife of John William Reo, of Whangarei, general carrier, under and by virtue of deferred payment licence, Volume 1593, folio 73, Auckland Land Registry, being taken for better utilisation.
