BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and of all other power thereunto enabling it, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and ninety-five thousand pounds (£195,000), to be known as the Sewer Reticulation Completion Loan 1960, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Birkenhead Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of sewer reticulation of the borough, including pumps, engineering expenses, and preliminary expenses, the said Birkenhead Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four pence (4d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value, based on the unimproved value, of all rateable property in the special rating area of the Borough of Birkenhead; and the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Birkenhead Borough Council held on the 6th day of June 1961.

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Electricity Loan 1960, £40,000
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Whakatane Borough Council, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £40,000 authorised to be raised by the Whakatane Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of converting distribution lines and substation from 3·3 to 11 Kv and converting main substation voltage from 22 Kv to 33 Kv, hereby makes a special rate of seventy-four one-hundredths of a penny (0·74d.) in the pound upon the rateable property of the Borough of Whakatane; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above-mentioned resolution was passed by the Whakatane Borough Council at a meeting held on the 12th day of June 1961.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Bus Terminus Building Loan 1960, £12,000—£7,000 Authorised to be Raised
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Whakatane Borough Council, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £7,000 authorised to be raised by the Whakatane Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a bus terminus building with offices, waiting lounge, luggage and parcel office, and conveniences, hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven one-hundredths of a penny (11/100d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) on all rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Whakatane Downstream River Bridge Loan 1960, £20,000
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Whakatane Borough Council, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Whakatane Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of sharing cost of erecting the Whakatane downstream river bridge, hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·30d. (three-tenths of one penny) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) on all rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAIPARA COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Scargill-Motunau Recreation Reserve 1961, £6,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waipara County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of six thousand pounds (£6,000) authorised by the Waipara County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of defraying the cost of purchasing for use for the purposes of public recreation all that piece of land situated in Blocks XI and XV of the Waikari Survey District containing 131 acres 1 rood 11 perches, or thereabouts, described as R.S. 31393Y and parts R.S. 29815 and 31393, the said Waipara County Council hereby makes a special rate of seven hundred and twenty-five ten thousandths of a penny (·0725d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Scargill-Motunau Recreation Reserve Special Rating Area comprising all the lands in the Waikari Stonyhurst and Weld Survey Districts within an area enclosed by a line commencing on the sea coast at the north-east corner of R.S. 32459 in Block XVI of the Stonyhurst Survey District and extending in a north-westerly direction along the eastern boundary of R.S. 32459 and the north-west boundary of D.P. 8423 to a point short of a surveyed road and thence northerly across the road along the western boundary of R.S. 30985 to another legal road and thence westerly along the southern side of that road to opposite the western boundary of D.P. 13843; thence along that boundary and the western boundaries of Lots 7 and 4 of D.P. 17614; thence north-east along the northern boundary of Lot 4 across the Cotswold Road and north-west along the western boundary of R.S. 10633, 32936, and 27688; thence south-west along the northern boundary of R.S. 27707 and south along the western boundary of the same section to the northern boundary of R.S. 31829; thence south-west and north-west round the western boundary of D.P. 8491 and of D.P. 8491 and 6270 and the northern boundary of D.P. 6270 to the south-eastern corner of Education Reserve 1151; thence along the south and western boundaries of Education Reserve 1151 to the State Highway No. 1 across that highway and in a general south-westerly direction along its northern side to its junction with the South Island Main Trunk Railway Reserve and thence along the eastern side of that railway reserve to a point opposite the southern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 2256; thence west along that boundary to the Glenmark Road, across the road and thence south-west along the north side of the Glenmark Road and north-westerly along the southern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 2256, and westerly and then north-westerly along the southern boundary of D.P. 4668 to the south-eastern corner of D.P. 1773; thence in a general south-westerly direction along the southern boundaries of D.P. 1773 and 4046 to the north-west corner of D.P. 9958; thence northerly along the western boundary of D.P. 4046 to the Waikari Valley Road and easterly along the southern side of that road to opposite the eastern boundary of Megowan’s Road, across that road and following the eastern side thereof to Gates’ Access Road, the south side of Gates’ Access Road and thence along the north-eastern boundary of R.S. 37689 to Megowan’s Road; thence along the western and northern boundaries of Lot 7, D.P. 775; thence along the western boundaries of R.S. 35160 and 30786, across the Mt. Alexander Road to the Scargill River and thence along the southern side of the river to its junction with the eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 18203; thence south-east to and across a public road; thence along the western and southern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 18203, to the north-eastern corner of and south along the eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 18203, to the Scargill Creek, south along that creek to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of R.S. 23815 and the eastern boundary of R.S. 22350 to its junction with the southern boundary of R.S. 23814; thence along the southern and eastern boundaries of R.S. 23814 and the southern boundaries of R.S. 25525, 24526, and 29801 to the Hurunui River and easterly along the southern bank of the Hurunui River to the boundary between the Waipara and Cheviot Counties and thence along that boundary and westerly along the coast to the commencing point on the sea coast at the north-east corner of R.S. 32459 in Block XVI of the Stonyhurst Survey District, but excluding all the lands in Lot 10 of Reserve 159 known as the Motunau Beach Subdivision, and Motunau Beach Extensions No. 1, 2, and 3 and the Motunau Domain; being the lands described in the special roll comprising the names of all persons entitled to vote in respect of the proposal to raise the said loan which was prepared and authenticated pursuant to the provisions of the said Act and regulations made thereunder; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
