Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Pursuant to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank, acting with the authority of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as from 23 June 1961, the balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each other bank for the time being carrying on business in New Zealand in accordance with the said section 45 shall be such that, when added to that bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes, it shall be equal to not less than 29 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 10 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933:

Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand.

For the purpose of this calculation a bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1955.

Land in the Nelson Land District Acquired as Permanent State Forest Land

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act 1949 as permanent State forest land.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT—NELSON CONSERVANCY

PART Section 102 and Sections 18 and 19, Block VII, Waka-puaka Survey District: Area, 223 acres 3 roods 39 perches, more or less. Balance of certificate of title, Vol. 17, folio 5, and all certificates of title, Vol. 48, folio 250, Vol. 47, folio 288.

As shown on plan No. 103/38 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Tariff Notice—Application for Approval of the Minister of Customs

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 155 (1) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

Reinforced felt for use as an insoling material in the manufacture of footwear.

The application will not be dealt with until 13 July 1961 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 13 July 1961.
