Time and Place of Elections by Fire Insurance Companies to
Fill Extraordinary Vacancies on the Fire Boards for the
Hastings and Napier United Urban Fire Districts
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Services Act 1949, the
Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on
Thursday, 1 June 1961, as the time, and the offices of the
Wellington Fire and Accident Underwriters' Association, 97
The Terrace, Wellington, as the place, for the holding of a
meeting of representatives of the insurance companies carrying
on business in New Zealand to elect one member for each of
the Fire Boards for the Hastings and Napier United Urban
Fire Districts.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Te Kaha Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the
date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to
the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated
13 January 1932 and published in the Gazette, 21 January
1932, Volume I, page 115.

PURSUANT to the Standards Act 1941, and regulations made
thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on
5 May 1961, amended the under-mentioned standard specification
by the incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:

Dimensions of gaskets for pipe flanges; being B.S. 3063:1959.
Amendment: No. 1 (PD 3526:1959).

Canterbury Raspberry Marketing Committee Election
(Notice No. Ag. 7272)
PURSUANT to clause 11 of the Schedule to the Canterbury
Raspberry Marketing Regulations 1950, notice is hereby given
that the roll of those persons qualified to vote for the election
of four producers’ representatives to the Canterbury Raspberry
Marketing Committee will be open for inspection during
ordinary office hours at the following places, viz, Department
of Agriculture, Head Office, Wellington, Christchurch, Ashbur-
ton, and at Rangiora.
The roll will be available for public inspection for a period
of seven days from 17 May 1961.
Nomination forms may be obtained on application to any
of the above offices or from the Returning Officer, Department
of Agriculture, Christchurch. Nominations must be in the hands
of the Returning Officer not later than noon on the 14th day
of June 1961.

Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee Election (Notice
No. Ag. 7268)
PURSUANT to clause 11 of the Schedule to the Nelson Raspberry
Marketing Regulations 1940, notice is hereby given
that the roll of those persons qualified to vote for
the election of four producers’ representatives to the
Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee will be open
for inspection during ordinary office hours at the fol-
lowing places, viz, Department of Agriculture, Head Office,
Wellington, and at Nelson; also at the following post offices,
viz, Motueka, Upper Moutere, Wakefield, Nelson, Tapawera,
and Tadmor.
The roll will be available for public inspection for a period
of seven days from 17 May 1961.
Nomination forms may be obtained on application to any of
the above offices or from the Returning Officer, Department
of Agriculture, Nelson. Nominations must be in the hands of
the Returning Officer not later than noon on the 14th day
of June 1961.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand
PURSUANT to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand
Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve Bank
of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Governor of
the Reserve Bank, acting with the authority of the Minister
of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as from 19 May 1961,
the balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each
other bank for the time being carrying on business in New
Zealand in accordance with the said section 45 shall be
such that, when added to that bank’s holding of Reserve
Bank notes, it shall be equal to not less than 27 per cent of
its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 10 per cent of its
time liabilities in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding
monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance
with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act
1933:
Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at
the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its
demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its
time liabilities in New Zealand.
For the purpose of this calculation a bank’s holding of
Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available
weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1955.
