Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be a Tribal Committee
Area and Consequential Revocations
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby
declares the parts of the Ruahine Tribal District described in
the Schedule hereto to be a tribal committee area for the
purposes of the said Act with the name therein set out, and
hereby revokes the notice dated 5 August 1949 and published
in Gazette on 11 August 1949 at page 1685 defining certain
tribal committee areas within the Ruahine Tribal District.
SCHEDULE
RUAHINE TRIBAL DISTRICT
Ruahine Tribal Committee Area
ALL that land in the Hawke’s Bay and Wellington districts
comprising the County of Dannevirke as described in the
Gazette of 1926 at page 126, excepting that portion lying to
the north of a line commencing at the northernmost corner
of the Ngamoko Block and proceeding south-easterly generally
along the north-eastern boundary of that block and the
Manawatu River and the main Norsewood-Takapau Road,
being the portion of the said County of Dannevirke within
the Tamatea Tribal District as described in the Gazette of
1949 at page 731; the County of Woodville as described in
the Gazette of 1928, at page 1169, excepting that portion
of the north-west of a right line commencing at a point in
the middle of the Manawatu River in line with the south-
eastern boundary of Section 2 Subdivision of the Manchester
Block and proceeding northerly to Trig. Station Whareaitc,
being the portion of the said County of Woodville within the
Raukawa Tribal District as described in the Gazette of 1947
at page 873; the County of Webber as described in the Gazette
of 1921 at page 583; the Borough of Dannevirke as described
in the Gazette of 1892 at page 1487; and the Borough of
Woodville as described in the Gazette of 1928 at page 1168.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minis-
ter of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions
of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as
they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not
apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof
the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade
motor in the course of his employment for the employer
described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not
authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive
a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Approval of a Testing Officer Under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person
named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing
officer under the said regulation for the authority specified in
column 1 of the said Schedule.

Limited Speed Zone Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Trans-
port hereby gives notice that the road specified in the Schedule
hereto is herby declared to be a limited speed zone for the
purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*
SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Hawera County adjacent to Hawera Borough:
Glover Road (from its junction with the No. 3 State Highway
(Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) to a point 16 chains
measured along the said Glover Road in a north-westerly
direction from the said junction).

Declaring Area Exempted from Portions of the Motor Launch
Regulations 1948
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, the Minister
of Marine hereby declares that for two years from the date
hereof on any day between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.,
subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the
Second Schedule hereto, regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor
Launch Regulations 1958 shall not apply to the area described
in the First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water in Lake Lyndon within the following
boundaries:
(a) North-eastward of a line drawn in a 328° true direction
running from the south-eastern boundary to the
north-western boundary of the lake commencing at
the rocky point where the road to Coleridge turns
sharp left at the bluff at the south end of the lake;
(b) South-westward of a line drawn in a 328° true direction
running from the south-eastern boundary to the
north-western boundary of the lake commencing at a
shingle point approximately half a mile north-east-
ward of the rocky point where the road to Coleridge
turns sharp left at the bluff at the south end of the
lake.
SECOND SCHEDULE
- On the edge of the water at normal lake level at each end
of the boundaries outlined in paragraphs (a) and (b) of the
area described in the First Schedule hereto there shall be
placed a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft
painted white with black letters. - The aforesaid notice boards shall contain the following
notice—
“NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1958
No speed restriction for motor launches for half a mile
north-eastward of the rocky point where the road to
Coleridge turns sharp left at the bluff at the south end
of the lake.”
