Change of the Purpose of a Reserve to Recreation Purposes and Addition of the Reserve to the Fortrose Domain
PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby changes the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a reserve for a site for a public hall to a reserve for recreation purposes, and further, declares the said reserve to be a public domain, subject to the provisions of Part III of the said Act, to form part of the Fortrose Domain to be administered as a public domain by the Domain Board.

Lot 1, D.P. 4052, being part Section 1, Block III, Town of Fortrose: Area, 1 rood 16·2 perches, more or less. Part certificate of title, Volume 45, folio 28.

Vesting a Reserve in the Putaruru Borough Council
PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby vests the reserve described in the Schedule hereto in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Putaruru, in trust, for public purposes.

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Mount Albert Borough Council and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve
PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Mount Albert and revokes the reservation for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

The Wildlife (Peafowl) Notice 1961
PURSUANT to section 6 of the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
- (1) This notice may be cited as the Wildlife (Peafowl) Notice 1961.
(2) This notice shall come into force on the date of its notification in the Gazette.
(3) This notice shall apply throughout New Zealand.

In this notice the term “peafowl” means any bird of the species Pavo cristatus.

No person shall hunt or kill any peafowl on any land of which he is not the occupier, except with the prior consent in writing of the occupier of that land.

Scheme of Control of Rangitikei College
PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Rangitikei College being controlled in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published in the Gazette of 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:
Provided that:
(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Council of the nearest borough within five miles of the school” were omitted, and the words “Marton Borough Council or the Rangitikei Borough Council” were substituted therefor; also as if the word “Council” where it last appears in that clause were omitted, and the word “Councils” were substituted therefor:
(b) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 9 were revoked:
(c) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Such election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1929 and every alternate year thereafter” were omitted, and the words “An election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1961, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1964 and in every third year thereafter” were substituted therefor:
(d) Clause 16 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “an Education Board or Borough Council shall himself be a member of such body” were omitted, and the words “the Wanganui Education Board or the Marton Borough Council or the Rangitikei County Council shall himself be a member of that Board or of one of those Councils” were substituted therefor:
(e) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if:
(i) Every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1964; and
(ii) The words “second year” were omitted, and the words “third year” substituted therefor:
(f) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 43 were revoked, and the clause numbered 43 set out in the Schedule hereto were substituted therefor.
(g) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to a biennial appointment were a reference to a triennial appointment.
SCHEDULE
CLAUSE TO BE SUBSTITUTED FOR CLAUSE 43 OF THE STANDARD SCHEME
- From time to time as may be necessary the Board shall appoint a Secretary, and shall appoint him or some other person with authority to receive money on the Board’s account. The Board shall forthwith inform the Minister of every such appointment. Where the Principal is appointed Secretary of the Board he shall not receive any additional remuneration in respect of that appointment.
