PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 421 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto, and comprised in a roadway laid out by the Maori Land Court by an order dated the 28th day of October 1941 and varied by an order dated the 4th day of October 1960, to be road.

ALL that piece of land containing 4 acres 2 roods 31 perches situated in Block VIII, Ongarue Survey District, Auckland R.D., being part Rangitoto Tuhua 78 B4 (A and B), Section 1; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 2236 (S.O. 17542) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring the Green Valley Rabbit District and the Nenthorn Rabbit District to be United to Form the Macraes Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 7231)

THE HON. J. R. MARSHALL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, hereby declares the Green Valley Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 8th day of October 1952,* and the Nenthorn Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 22nd day of February 1955†, to be united and to form one district having the name of the Macraes Rabbit District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto; and further declares that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MACRAES RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Counties of Maniototo, Taieri, Waihemo, Waikouaiti, and Waitaki containing 138,610 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Kakanui Peak situated at the southernmost corner of Run 681, Kakanui Survey District, and proceeding generally south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Run 682 to the northernmost corner of Section 1, Block XV, Kakanui Survey District; thence generally south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that section to the western boundary of Run 571; thence generally south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Runs 571, 572, and 699 to the easternmost corner of Section 4, Block IX, Waihemo Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along a leading ridge through Run 699 to a point on the north-western boundary of Run 700, distant 4000 links approximately north-easterly from the northernmost corner of Section 24, Block VIII, Waihemo Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along that north-western boundary of Run 700 to the northernmost corner of the said Section 24; thence generally south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Blocks VIII, V, and III, Waihemo Survey District, to the northernmost corner of Section 10, Block XV, Moeraki Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Section 10, and south-westerly along the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of that section and Sections 8, 2, and 9, Block XV aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of that last-mentioned section; thence south-easterly to and along the north-eastern boundary of part Section 4, Block XV aforesaid, and southerly along the eastern boundary of that section to its southernmost corner; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of part Section 5, Block XV aforesaid, and south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of that section, part Section 3, Block XV aforesaid, and part Sections 2 and 1, Block VIII, Moeraki Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Shag River; thence generally westerly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 28, Block II, Dunback Survey District; thence westerly to and along that southern boundary of Section 28 and north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of that section and Section 27, Block II aforesaid, to McDonald Road; thence generally northerly along the eastern side of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block II, aforesaid; thence north-westerly to and along that north-eastern boundary and westerly and south-easterly along the northern and south-western boundaries of Section 9 to the easternmost corner of Section 2, Block III, Dunback Survey District; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of that section and Sections 3 and 4, Block III aforesaid, to the north-eastern boundary of Block XI, Dunback Survey District; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of that block and the production of that last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Macraes Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block VI, Dunback Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along that south-eastern boundary of Section 9 to its southernmost corner; thence generally south-easterly along the north-eastern side of Golden Bar Road to the southernmost corner of Section 5, Block XI, Dunback Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along the north-western boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block VIII, Dunback Survey District, to the westernmost corner of that last-mentioned section; thence generally southerly along the western boundaries of Section 1, Block VIII aforesaid, and Section 1, Block IX, Dunback Survey District, to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Run 121c; thence generally south-westerly to and along that north-western boundary and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Run 121c to the northernmost corner of Run 171d; thence generally south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Runs
