Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Revoking a Limited Speed Zone and a Closely Populated Locality Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

1. That the Warrant under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 23rd day of May 1960† which relates to the Frankton-Pirongia road in Waipa County is hereby revoked.

2. The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waipa County:

The Frankton-Pirongia road from a point 13 chains south-west of its junction with Foster Road to a point 27 chains north-east of the said junction.

Amending Notice by the Minister of Marine Declaring Area to be an Access Lane for the Purposes of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958

PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, the Minister of Marine hereby amends the notice of the 8th day of June 1959 and published in the Gazette of the 25th day of the same month at page 841 by deleting the wording of the Second Schedule and substituting the following wording:

“All that area of water in Akaroa Harbour bounded on the sides by parallel lines 300 yards apart extending in a north-north-easterly direction 200 yards from the edge of the water, the north-easternmost boundary commencing approximately 1,030 yards south-west of the landward end of the Akaroa jetty.”
