ROTORUA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Rotorua Borough Council Pensioners’ Flats Loan 1960, £8,900

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Rotorua Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of eight thousand nine hundred pounds (£8,900), to be known as the Rotorua Borough Council Pensioners’ Flats Loan 1960 of £8,900, authorised to be raised by the Rotorua Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting pensioners’ flats for aged people, the Rotorua Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought two three pence (0·023d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Rotorua; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Rotorua Borough Council held on Wednesday, the 1st day of February 1961.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Rotorua Borough Council Fenton Street Reconstruction Loan 1960, £36,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Rotorua Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of thirty-six thousand pounds (£36,000), to be known as the Rotorua Borough Council Fenton Street Reconstruction Loan 1960 of £36,000, authorised to be raised by the Rotorua Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing the Council’s share of the cost of reconstructing Fenton Street, the Rotorua Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal one three five pence (0·135d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Rotorua; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Rotorua Borough Council held on Wednesday, the 1st day of February 1961.

WAIRARAPA CATCHMENT BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Whareama Staff Housing Loan 1960, £4,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wairarapa Catchment Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £4,000 authorised to be raised by the Wairarapa Catchment Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing land at Tinui and erecting a staff dwelling thereon, the Wairarapa Catchment Board hereby makes a special rate of

0·199d. in the pound on class A land
0·076d. in the pound on class B land
0·047d. in the pound on class C land
0·046d. in the pound on class D land
0·038d. in the pound on class E land
0·031d. in the pound on class F land

on the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the Whareama Catchment Rating District in accordance with the special rating classification list and plan deposited in the office of the Board; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of September and the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Wairarapa Catchment Board held on the 13th day of December 1960.

TIMARU CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Sewer and Drainage Renewal Loan 1961, £19,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Timaru City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That for the purpose of providing the annual charge on the loan of £19,000, to be known as the Sewer and Drainage Renewal Loan 1961, authorised to be raised by the Timaru City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing for the repayment on 1 March 1961 of £19,000 of the Sewer and Drainage Loan 1954 of £93,000, the said Timaru City Council hereby makes a special rate of two hundred and twenty-four thousandths of a penny (0·224d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Timaru; and that the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of 11 years, or until such loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Timaru City Council held on the 30th day of January 1961.

WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSE OF ROAD WIDENING

In the matter of the Counties Act 1956 and the Public Works Act 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitotara County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to take the pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto for road widening.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said pieces of land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate at No. 331 Victoria Avenue, Wanganui, and is open to inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the taking of the said land who have any well grounded objections to the taking of any of the said lands must state their objection in writing and send the same, within 40 days of the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

Hearing of Objections to Otahuhu District Scheme

THE Otahuhu Borough Council hereby gives notice that the hearing of objections to the district scheme will commence at the Council Chambers, corner of Great South Road and Princes Street, Otahuhu, at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday, the 2nd day of March 1961, and will continue as there arranged from time to time and place to place until all objectors and witnesses have been heard.

All persons who wish to be heard in support of or opposition to any objection shall notify the Council accordingly at least three days before that date.

The following is a summary of the subjects-matters of objections received by the Council:
