Constitution of Board of Managers of Horowhenua College

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 1st day of February 1961
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Education Act 1914, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order and regulations.
ORDER
- The constitution of the Board of Managers for Horowhenua College, specified in the regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction,* is hereby varied so that the Board shall consist of:
(a) One manager appointed by the Wellington Education Board;
(b) Two managers elected by the members of the School Committees of the Shannon Public School, the Koputaroa Public School, Poroutawhao Public School, the Muhunoa East Public School, the Levin Public School, the Levin East Public School, the Ohau Public School, the Manakau Public School, and the Otaki Public School:
(c) Four managers elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school, of which managers at least one shall be a woman:
(d) One manager elected by the Levin Borough Council and the Horowhenua County Council:
(e) One manager appointed by the Governor-General:
(f) One manager to be co-opted by the Board of Managers itself, if and when it thinks fit.

The Minister of Education may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, amend the list of schools to which paragraph (b) in clause 1 of this order applies.

The order and regulations made on the 17th day of March 1954† relating to the constitution of the Board of Managers of Horowhenua College are hereby revoked.
REGULATIONS

These regulations may be cited as the Horowhenua College Regulations 1961.

The provisions of Part III of the regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction* shall, with the necessary modifications, apply in the election and appointment of managers of Horowhenua College.

Boundaries of County of Hawke’s Bay and Borough of Taradale Altered

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

On and from the 1st day of April 1961, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Hawke’s Bay and included in the Borough of Taradale.

The alteration of the boundaries of the said county and the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area comprising 1 acre 1 rood 39·6 perches, more or less, situated in the Hawke’s Bay County and bounded by a line commencing at the point of intersection of the middle of Puketapu Road and Dolbel Street in Block VII, Heretaunga Survey District, and proceeding westerly along the middle of Dolbel Street, 711·67 links; thence north-easterly along right lines bearing 51° 16′ 340·95 links, and bearing 27° 38′ 208·34 links to the middle of Puketapu Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to the point of commencement.

Boundaries of County of Taieri and Borough of Green Island Altered

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

On and from the 1st day of April 1961, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Taieri and included in the Borough of Green Island.

The alteration of the boundaries of the said county and the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Kaikorai Riding of Taieri County containing 29 acres and 15 perches, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 44, Green Island Bush Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that section and its production to the middle of the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Section 44, part closed road, as described in Otago Provincial Gazette, 1865, page 261, and part of Section 37, Green Island Bush Survey District; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of a road passing through Sections 37–40, Green Island Bush Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along the north-western side of that road to the south-western boundary of Section 40 aforesaid; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of that section to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 44, Green Island Bush Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along the south-western boundary of that section to the point of commencement.

Authorising the Auckland Harbour Board to Reclaim Land at Shoal Bay, Takapuna

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 175 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Auckland Harbour Board to reclaim from the sea at Shoal Bay, Takapuna, the land as shown coloured yellow on sheet 1 of plan marked M.D. 10922 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

Exempting Land in Block II, Wairio Survey District, Southland, from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE
THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land containing 1 rood, more or less, being Lot 4 on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Invercargill as No. 2440, and being also part of Section 90, Block II, Wairio Survey District, excepting however out of the said parcel of land all minerals whatsoever under the surface thereof, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Volume 128, folio 10, Southland Registry, subject to the rights created by transfer No. 54393 and to the fencing agreement contained in transfer No. 54513.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 27th day of January 1961.
