the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the
2nd day of September 1960, presented to the said Court by
Leo Samuel Lichtenstein, of Auckland, merchant; and the
said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting
at Auckland on the 24th day of February 1961, at 10 a.m.;
and any creditor or contributory of the said company desir-
ous to support or to oppose the making of an order on the
said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person
or by his counsel for that purpose and a copy of the petition
will be furnished by the undersigned to any creditor or con-
tributory of the said company requiring a copy on payment
of the regulated charge for the same.

I hereby give public notice of the result of the annual election
held on Monday, the 5th day of December 1960, to fill the
two vacancies on the Board of Governors of Canterbury
Agricultural College.
One member to be elected by such of the Members of
the House of Representatives as for the time being represent
electoral districts wholly or partly within the Provincial Dis-
trict of Canterbury.
I hereby declare William Henry Gillespie, being the only
nomination received, to be duly elected to the Board of
Governors to hold office for a period of three years com-
mencing on the 1st day of January 1961.
One member to be elected by the graduates of the University
of New Zealand whose names are on the books of the Col-
lege and the holders of diplomas granted by the College.

Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers
of the Borough of Whakatane, taken on the 23rd day of
November 1960, on the proposal of the Whakatane Borough
Council to borrow the sum of £7,000 for the purpose of the
Bus Terminus Building Loan 1960:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was ..... 518
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 386
The number of informal votes was ..... 14
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WAIHI BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Waihi Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £3,710, to be known as the Waihi Borough Council
Pensioners Housing Loan 1959 of £3,710, authorised to be
raised under the Local Authorities Loans Act for the purpose
of building flats to house pensioners, the Waihi Borough Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal five of one
penny (0·5d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on
the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property in
the Borough of Waihi; and that the said special rate shall be
an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said
loan and shall be payable on the 1st day of April in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the
Waihi Borough Council held on the 21st day of November
1960.
