Boundaries of Borough of Whangarei, County of Whangarei, and Manaia, Kiripaka, Maunu, and Maungakaramea Ridings of County of Whangarei Defined
Pursuant to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Whangarei, the County of Whangarei, and the Manaia, Kiripaka, Maunu, and Maungakaramea Ridings of the County of Whangarei, the previous boundaries having been altered by Orders in Council made on the 6th day of October 1958, and the 9th day of September 1959, and published in Gazette, 9 October 1958, No. 60, page 1346, and 17 September 1959, No. 56, page 1299, respectively.

Boundaries of Borough of Whangarei
All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 41018, in Block V, Whangarei Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly generally along the western and north-western boundaries of that lot and along a right line across Lot 1, D.P. 30191, to the southernmost corner of Lot 34, D.P. 41542; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 30191, to a point on that boundary 250 links distant northward from and measured at right angles to the north-western side of a public road forming the south-eastern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 7188; thence north-easterly along a right line across Lots 6 and 7, D.P. 7188, to and along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 39562, the north-western boundaries of Lots 2, 3, and 4, along a right line across Lot 9, to and along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 7, all the aforesaid lots being of D.P. 39562, to a point on the last-mentioned boundary in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 43211; thence along a right line across Lot 8, D.P. 39562, to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 43211, and that last-mentioned boundary produced across Lot 1, D.P. 44584, to and along the western and north-western boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 43211, the north-western boundaries of Lots 4, 5, and 6, D.P. 43211, and that last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of Corks Road; thence southerly generally along the middle of that road and the middle of a public road crossing the intervening Whangarei-Kiripaka road to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 12, D.P. 3129; thence along a right line to and along that western boundary and the western boundary of part Lot 11, D.P. 3129, crossing the intervening Korau Road, to and along the northern side and western end of the public road forming the southern boundary of Lot 10, D.P. 3129 aforesaid, and the south-western boundary of Lot 22, D.P. 3129, to and along the generally western boundary of Allotment 42, Whangarei Parish, shown on D.P. 4396, along a right line across Paranui Valley Road to and along the western boundary of Allotment 41, Whangarei Parish, shown on D.P. 3795, and along a right line to and down the middle of a tributary of the Hatea River forming the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, Deeds Plan 47, to and down the middle of the said Hatea River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part Parahaki No. 1 Block (Parahaki Reserve) in Block IX, Whangarei Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of that No. 1 Block to and southerly generally along the generally western boundary of part Parahaki Reserve, shown on Deeds Plan W. 26, along the northern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 47, Deeds Plan 60, the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of Lot 55A, Deeds Plan 67, and the northern end of Dundas Road to its south-eastern side; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of part Allotment 2, Parahaki Parish, shown on D.P. 17205, and along the north-western, south-western, and south-eastern boundaries of that part Allotment 2, to and along the south-western boundary of another part of the aforesaid Allotment 2, shown on D.P. 19998, along a right line, being that boundary produced, to the middle of the Old Parua Bay Road, and northerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 12, D.P. 18256; thence along a right line to and along the western and south-western boundaries of the said Lot 12, along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 30, Block IX aforesaid, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 26, D.P. 18256 aforesaid, to and along the south-western boundaries of Lots 2 and 4, D.P. 27781, along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced, to the middle of Mackesy Road, and along the middle of that road to and along the middle of Rata Road, to and along the southern end of that road, along the generally western boundary of Lot 75, D.P. 18256. and along a right line; being the last-mentioned boundary produced, to the middle of the old Whangarei-Onerahi road; thence along the middle of that road to and along the middle of the public road forming the northern boundary of Section 32, Block IX, Whangarei Survey District, to a point in line with the generally northern boundary of part Te Wharauroa No. 1 Block, comprised in C.T., Volume 1038, folio 300, and along a right line to and along the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of that part No. 1 Block, to and along a series of right lines parallel to and 250 links distant from and measured at right angles to the north-eastern side of the new Whangarei-Onerahi road, as shown on S.O. Plan 35933, to a point in Block XIII, Whangarei Survey District, on the south-eastern boundary of the part Waimahanga No. 2 Block
shown on D.P. 22981; thence along that south-eastern boundary and the south-eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 24775, to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 24775 aforesaid, and that boundary produced across a public road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 24243, and along another right line to and along the last-mentioned boundary, to and along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 4, D.P. 24243 aforesaid, to the angle in the public road forming part of the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 43242; thence across the said public road to and along the eastern boundary of the area of public road closed by Proclamation published in Gazette, 1932, page 2766, shown on S.O. Plan 26375, being a series of right lines through Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 43242 aforesaid, and through Crown land, to and north-easterly along the north-western side of a public road to the shores of the Whangarei Harbour; thence southerly, westerly, and northerly generally along those shores to a point due west of the southernmost corner of part Allotment 169, Town of Grahamtown; thence northerly along a right line to a point on the shores of the Whangarei Harbour due west of the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 42421; thence north-westerly along another right line to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 24, Block IX, Whangarei Survey District, being 11 chains distant south-westerly from the southernmost corner of the said Section 24; thence north-easterly along another right line to the southernmost corner of the said Section 24; thence northerly generally along a right line to and along the south-western boundary of Section 24 aforesaid to the angle in the western boundary of that section near the mouth of the Waimahanga Stream at low water; thence along a right line to a point in the middle of the Whangarei River channel at low water, opposite the mouth of the Awaroa Stream channel at low water, and again westerly generally up the middle of the low-water channel of the Whangarei River to a point bearing 38° 36' 30" from the middle of a bridge on the Port Whangarei Road crossing the Haha or Limeburners Creek; thence along a right line from that last-mentioned point in the middle of the Whangarei River, and passing across the middle of the bridge aforesaid, to the north-eastern side of the North Auckland Railway; thence still westerly generally along the north-eastern side of that railway to the eastern boundary of Okara Block and along a right line across the said railway, to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 26761, to a public road; thence along a right line across the said public road to peg No. XXVII, shown on S.O. Plan 22721, and along a series of right lines bearing 257° 36', distant 1045·3 links, bearing 265° 35', distant 571·4 links, bearing 239° 06', distant 205·3 links, bearing 275° 09' 30", distant 440·0 links, and along another series of right lines parallel to the southern side of Morningside Road to and along the eastern and southern boundaries of Lot 14, D.P. 40075, and the southern boundaries of Lots 13, 12, 11, and 10, D.P. 40075, along a right line across part Section 1, Block XII, Purua Survey District, to and along the southern boundaries of Lots 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, D.P. 40075, and the southern boundaries of Lots 3, 2, and 1, D.P. 37939, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence continuing westerly along a series of right lines parallel to the southern sides of Morningside Road and High Street to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 29, D.P. 44307; thence along a right line to and along the south-eastern boundary of that lot and the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 28 and 27, along another right line across Lots 26 and 25 to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 24, 23, and 22, along another right line across a public road to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3, all the aforesaid lots being of D.P. 44307, along a right line across part Section 1, Block XII, Purua Survey District, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 44307 aforesaid, and along a right line across part Raumanga No. 2 Block, shown on D.P. 17176, and part Lot 2, D.P. 31662, to and along the northern boundary of Lot 40, D.P. 432, the northern boundary of part Lot 34, D.P. 432 and its production, across No. 1 State Highway and along its western side to and along the southern boundaries of Lots 26, 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, and 19, D.P. 43731, and that last-mentioned boundary produced to its intersection with the production easterly of the southern boundary of part Raumanga 2 Block, shown on L.T. 998A; thence continuing westerly along a right line to and along the southern and part of the western boundary of part Raumanga 2 Block aforesaid and that western boundary produced to the middle of the Raumanga Stream; thence up the middle of the Raumanga Stream to a point in Block XVI, Purua Survey District, in line with the north-eastern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 28097; thence north-westerly along a right line to and along that boundary and along a right line across the No. 14 State Highway to the south-eastern corner of part Waihoanga 2 Block, shown on L.T. 991A, and proceeding easterly generally along the north-western side of that highway to and along the eastern boundary of that part Tokitaruna Block comprised in C.T., Volume 766, folio 101, and that boundary produced to and down the middle of the Te Hihi Stream to a point in line with the easternmost boundary of part Section 8, Block XII, Purua Survey District, comprised in C.T., Volume 68, folio 202; thence along a right line to and along that easternmost boundary and its production across a public road to the southern boundary of Allotment 5 of Pukenui 1 Block; thence again easterly along the northern side of the public road forming the southern boundaries of Allotment 5 aforesaid, that part Allotment 4 of Pukenui 1 Block comprised in C.T., Volume 769, folio 113, and that part Taikawiwi Block
