Excluding Roads from Speed Limitation and Limited Speed
Zone Declared

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That so much of the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 6th day of October 1937,* as relates to No. 25 State Highway (Pipiroa-Waihi via Coromandel) known as Tararu Road in Thames Borough is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Thames Borough: No. 25 State Highway (Pipiroa-Waihi via Coromandel) from the southern boundary of Thames Borough to the junction of the said State highway with Fenton Street.

No. 25 State Highway (Pipiroa-Waihi via Coromandel) from the northern boundary of Thames Borough to a point 45 chains south of the junction of the said State highway with Ash Street.

SECOND SCHEDULE

No. 25 State Highway (Pipiroa-Waihi via Coromandel) from a point 6 chains north of its junction with Tararu Creek Road to a point 45 chains south of the junction of the said State highway with Ash Street.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Motor Vehicles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1956

Pursuant to clause (2) of regulation 41 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Minister of Transport hereby approves for the purposes of the said regulations red reflectors of the makes and types described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

TAIL lamp assemblies incorporating reflex red reflectors marked “Guide R1–60 Guidex” fitted as standard equipment to Chevrolet motor cars.

Tail lamp assemblies incorporating reflex red reflectors marked “Guide R2–61 Guidex” fitted as standard equipment to Pontiac motor cars.

Land in the Gisborne Land District Acquired as Permanent State Forest Land

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act 1949 as permanent State forest land.

SCHEDULE

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT—ROTORUA CONSERVANCY

SECTION 10, Block VIII, Nuhaka North Survey District: Area, 751 acres 2 roods, more or less. As shown on plan No. 57/3 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plan 5201.)

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Horohoro Development Scheme)

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 9 December 1929 and published in the Gazette, 12 December 1929, Volume III, page 3264.
