Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 28th day of November 1960.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block VIII, Mangamuka Survey District, for Road and for the Use, Convenience, or Enjoyment of a Road

Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the First Schedule hereto for road, and to take the land described in the Second Schedule hereto for the use, convenience, or enjoyment of a road; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Rangiahua and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the said land set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

Closely Populated Locality Declared

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time during the periods from the 20th day of December each year to the 10th day of February inclusive in the next ensuing year and from the Thursday preceding Easter to the Tuesday following Easter shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 30 miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

Situated within Marlborough County at Pelorus Bridge: No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) commencing at a point 16 chains measured in a southerly direction from Pelorus Bridge and terminating at a point 16 chains measured in a north-easterly direction from the said Pelorus Bridge.

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SCHEDULE

Situated within Geraldine County adjacent to Geraldine Borough: The No. 72 State Highway (Woodend-Winchester) from the northern boundary of Geraldine Borough to a point 40 chains measured in a northerly direction from the said boundary.
