HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Wainuiomata War Memorial Community Centre Loan 1958, £20,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Hutt County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Hutt County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the construction of a War Memorial Community Centre Hall at Wainuiomata, the said Hutt County Council hereby makes a special rate of 0·35d. (thirty five one-hundredths of a penny) in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Wainuiomata Riding of the County of Hutt; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

BLENHEIM BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Gasworks Loan 1960, £44,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, the Council of the Borough of Blenheim doth hereby resolve as follows:

“That, for the purpose of securing the interest and other charges on a loan of £44,000 authorised to be raised under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of installing a mechanically-operated horizontal retort and incidental equipment at the Municipal Gasworks, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four hundred and thirteen one-thousandths of a penny (0·413d.) in the pound (£) upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the said loan is fully paid off, and the said Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge the said special rate as security for the above loan.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Blenheim Borough Council held on the 26th day of October 1960.

WAIRERE ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Mokauiti Hydro-electric Generation Loan 1959, £140,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wairere Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £140,000, known as the Mokauiti Hydro-electric Generation Loan, and authorised to be raised by the Wairere Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of constructing hydro-electric works on the Mokauiti River, the said Wairere Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of two pence three farthings (2¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Wairere Electric Power District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at the meeting of the Wairere Electric Power Board held on Thursday, 20 October 1960.

THE CHARITABLE TRUSTS ACT 1957

THE Order of Saint Brigid Trust Board have caused a scheme to be prepared in accordance with Part III of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957. The scheme is filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Masterton. The scheme provides for extending the powers of the trustees and prescribing the mode of administering the trust. The trustees would under the scheme have power to deal generally with property, to borrow money, to enter into any arrangements with public bodies that may seem conducive to the objects of the trust board, and in general to carry out the existing objects of the trust, namely, the education and instruction of the young by whatever means the Trust Board should think fit. A copy of the application to the Court, and of the scheme, and of the report of the Attorney-General may be inspected at the offices of the solicitors to the Trust Board, Daniell, Bayliss, and Co., Perry Street, Masterton, or at the office of the Supreme Court at Masterton, during office hours, without fee.

The date proposed for the hearing of the application by the Supreme Court at Wellington is the 14th day of December 1960. Any person desiring to oppose the scheme must give written notice of his intention so to do to the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Masterton, and to the trustees at the office of their solicitors, and to the Attorney-General not later than the 6th day of December 1960.
