Amalgamation of Tribal Committee Areas Constituted Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby revokes the declaration of the Pakiri and Kakanui Tribal Committee areas as set out in the Schedule to the notice dated 19 April 1947, and published in the Gazette on 24 April 1947, Vol. I, page 492, declaring parts of the Otamatea Tribal District to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act and substitutes the name and description contained in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

OTAMATEA TRIBAL DISTRICT—PAKIRI TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Allotment 194, Oruawharo Parish, in Block IV, Otamatea Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Allotment 84, Mangawhai Parish, in Block III, Mangawhai Survey District; thence to and down the middle of the Mangawhai Harbour to the sea coast; thence southerly generally along the sea coast, crossing the mouths of all harbours and inlets, to the middle of the mouth of the Waiwera River in Block IV, Waiwera Survey District; thence up the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 52, Parish of Puhoi; thence to and along the southern and western boundaries of Puhoi Parish to the northern boundary of Makarau Parish; thence north-westerly along a right line passing through Trig. Station Atuanui in Block X, Tauhoa Survey District, to the middle of the Hoteo River; thence down the middle of that river to its mouth; thence to and north-westerly along the middle of the Kaipara Harbour to its intersection with the production of a right line between Trig. Station 603 in Block I, Mahurangi Survey District; and the south-eastern corner of Allotment 62, Tauhoa Parish, in Block VII, Tauhoa Survey District; thence north-easterly to and along the said right line to Trig. Station 603 aforesaid; thence northerly along a right line to Trig. Station 593 in Block VIII, Pakiri Survey District, a right line to the south-western corner of Otoro D Block and a right line to the point of commencement.

Varying a Notice Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 (2) of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby varies the notice dated 8 November 1954 and published in the Gazette of 25 November 1954, at page 1881, declaring parts of the Hauraki Tribal District to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act by deleting from the Schedule thereto the description of the Kaiaua Tribal Committee Area.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Change of the Name of Motutara Domain

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby declares that the public domain described in the Schedule hereto known as the Motutara Domain shall hereafter be known as the Muriwai Beach Domain.
