WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waipa County Council
proposes to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction
of a public road, for which purpose the lands described in
the Schedule hereto require to be taken by the said Waipa
County Council under the provisions of the Public Works Act
1928.
A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is open
for public inspection at the office of the Waipa County Council
in Bank Street, Te Awamutu.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well founded objections to the execution of such
works or to the taking of such lands and to send such writing
to the Waipa County Council, Bank Street, Te Awamutu,
within 40 days from the first publication of this notice.

TE AROHA BOROUGH COUNCIL
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Te Aroha Borough
Council resolved on the 16th day of August 1960 to extend
the closing date for objections to the 30th day of September
1960.

THE MINING ACT 1926
NOTICE is hereby given that, by application No. 42 of 1960,
Leonard Nelson James, of Middlemarch, farmer, will apply
to the Warden's Court at Cromwell, on the 12th day of
October 1960, for a licence for a water race authorising the
diversion of two heads of water from the Taieri River in
Section 6, Block VI, Strath Taieri S.D., by a race commencing
where northern boundary of said Section 6 meets the
river and terminating 4½ miles distant at a point opposite
southern boundary of said section.
Objections must be filed in the Registrar's Office, Cromwell,
and notified to applicant at least three days before the date of
hearing.

THE MINING ACT 1926
NOTICE is hereby given that John Edward James, of Middle-
march, farmer, will apply to the Warden of the Otago Mining
District at Cromwell, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the 9th day
of November 1960, for a licence for a water race to divert
two heads of water from the Taieri River by a race commencing
where the northern boundary of Section 26, Block VI, Strath
Taieri S.D., meets the said river and terminating in Section
7, Block VI, Strath Taieri S.D.
Objections must be filed in the office of the Mining Regis-
trar, Cromwell, and notified to applicant, whose address for
service is at the office of Brodrick and Parcell, Solicitors,
Melmore Street, Cromwell, at least three days before the
above-mentioned time of hearing.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL
In the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of
Representatives relating to private Bills and in the
matter of a private Bill intituled “An Act to incor-
porate the trustees of the Hawke’s Bay Centennial
Memorial Trust Fund, set up for the purpose of assisting
the establishment of a University of Hawke’s Bay, and to
make provision for the powers and administration of the
University of Hawke’s Bay Trust Board and for other
purposes.”
NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of Walter
Edwin Bate, of Hastings, solicitor, and Richard Alexander
Nimon, of Havelock North, sheep farmer, to introduce in
the present session of Parliament a Bill intituled “An Act to
incorporate the trustees of the Hawke’s Bay Centennial
Memorial Trust Fund, set up for the purpose of assisting the
establishment of a University of Hawke’s Bay, and to make
provision for the powers and administration of the University
of Hawke’s Bay Trust Board and for other purposes.”
The objects which the said Bill is intended to effect are to
incorporate the University of Hawke’s Bay Trust Board as a
body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal;
to provide for the membership of the said Board, its procedure
and powers, including power to accept and receive by gift or
otherwise any land, money, or other assets for the purposes of a
University of Hawke’s Bay or any purposes ancillary thereto or
preliminary to the establishment of such a university. Provision
is also made in the said Bill for vesting in the University of
Hawke’s Bay Trust Board all moneys now held or hereafter
received by the Hawke’s Bay Centennial Council for the
purposes of a Centennial Memorial for the Province of
Hawke’s Bay, and for the transfer to the University of
Hawke’s Bay Trust Board by Hilda Margaret Hetley, of
Taradale, widow, of the land described in a deed executed by
her on the 20th day of September 1960 and given by her for
the purposes of a University of Hawke’s Bay, subject to the
reservation to her of an interest for life without impeachment
of waste and otherwise upon the terms set forth in the said
Private Bill.
This Bill is promoted by the said Walter Edwin Bate and
Richard Alexander Nimon as trustees appointed by the
Hawke’s Bay Centennial Council of the Hawke’s Bay Cen-
tenial Memorial Trust Fund, and their address for communications and notices is at the office of Messrs Simpson, Bate,
and Wane, Solicitors, Queen Street, Hastings, at which address
a copy of the Bill may be inspected.

evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be
received by the Government Printer before 12 o'clock of the
day preceding publication.

(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram,
35s. per volume. (Volumes for years 1936–37 and
1939–42 are out of print.)
(3) Separate regulations as issued.
