FRIENDLY SOCIETIES ACT 1909
CANCELLING A SOCIETY
NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies
has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909,
by writing under his hand this 7th day of September 1960,
cancelled the registry of Marama Lodge, No. 93, of the
Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand Friendly
Society (Register No. 146/99) held at Morton Mains, on the
ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

NAPIER CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Napier City Council proposes
to execute a certain public work, namely, to provide land for
building sites; and for the purpose of such public work the
lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be
taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the
lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office
of the Town Clerk of the said Council situated in Tennyson
Street, Napier, and is open for inspection without fee by all
persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of the said lands who have any well
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said lands must set out their objections
in writing and send the same, within 40 days from the first
publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at his office
aforesaid.
SCHEDULE
First—7 acres and 22 perches, more or less, situated in
Block IV, Heretaunga Survey District, being Lots 2, 3, and 5
on Deposited Plan 6562, which said parcel of land is part of
Blocks 47 and 96, Puketapu Crown Grant District, and being
part of the Ahuriri Lagoon Reserve, and being all the land
in certificate of title, H.B. Volume 130, folio 163.
Secondly—87 acres and 33'87 perches, more or less, situate
in Blocks IV and VIII of the Heretaunga Survey District,
being parts of Blocks 47 and 123, Puketapu Crown Grant
District, parts of the said Block 47 being more particularly
shown as Lot 14 and part Lots 5, 6, 22, and 23 on Deeds
Plan No. 133, and being all the land in certificate of title,
H.B. Volume 157, folio 66, excepting thereout the lands taken
by Proclamations 150445 and 152680.

COUNTY OF ASHBURTON
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of section 32, Public Works Act 1928.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given of the Ashburton County
Council’s intention to take by Proclamation the lands com-
prised in the Schedule hereto for road. A plan of the lands
proposed to be proclaimed is lodged in the Council’s office
in Baring Square, Ashburton, and may be inspected during
office hours by any person. All persons affected by such
intention and wishing to object to the taking of such lands
must forward their written objections to the Council’s office
within 40 days from the first publication of this notice.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL
PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956, notice is hereby given that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Borough of Mosgiel taken on the 31st day of August
1960 on the proposal of the Mosgiel Borough Council to
borrow the sum of £50,000 for the purpose of erecting a sports
pavilion on War Memorial Park, Mosgiel:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .... 251
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was ..... 576
The number of informal votes was ..... 11
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTIFICATION OF RESULT OF POLL
PURSUANT to section 13 (2) of the Local Authorities Loans
Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of
the Wainui Beach Erosion Loan Special Rating District taken
on the 5th day of September 1960 on the proposal of the
above-named local authority to raise a loan of £5,000 to be
known as the Wainui Beach Erosion Loan 1960 for the
purpose of meeting the Council's share of the cost of erecting
groynes on Wainui Beach for the purpose of combating beach
erosion resulted as follows:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 41.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .15.
The number of informal votes was ..... 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF ASHBURTON
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Regulations
1960, public notice is hereby given that the following variations
to the district scheme, under the Town and Country Planning
Act 1953, for the Borough of Ashburton was approved by the
Council, by resolution passed at its meeting held on the 5th day
of September 1960, after all objections, appeals, and arbitrations
relating to the scheme had been disposed of and the scheme
had been amended to give effect to all objections and appeals
allowed and all variations of the scheme required by the Town
and Country Planning Appeal Board had been incorporated.
The variations aforementioned are as follows:
(1) Re-route service lane in Commercial "C" zone. Area
bounded by Burnett Street, Tancred Street, and West
Street.
(2) Extend Industrial "A" Zone and re-route service lane in
block bounded by East Street, Moore Street, Cass
Street, Mona Square, and Kermode Street.
(3) Reduce width of service lane from 16ft to 12ft for a
further distance of 16ft along length of same block
bounded by Baring Square, Cameron Street, Cass
Street, and Havelock Street.
(4) Extend Industrial "A" Zone over T.S. 917 to 919 in-
clusive, Walnut Avenue.
The Council has also resolved that the scheme shall come
into operation on the 26th day of September 1960.
Copies of the scheme as approved have been deposited in
the Council's office and in the Ashburton Public Library,
these may be inspected, without fee, by any person who so
requires at any time when these places are open to the public.
