Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be a Tribal Committee Area Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

Pursuant to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby declares the parts of the Taniwharau Tribal District described in the Schedule hereto to be a tribal committee area for the purposes of the said Act and hereby assigns to the said area the name "Tamahere Tribal Committee Area".

SCHEDULE

TANIWHARAU TRIBAL DISTRICT—TAMHERE TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VIII, Komakorau Survey District, being the intersection of the production of the western boundary of Lot 9, D.P. 6948, with the middle of the Auckland-Thames Railway, being a point on the boundary of the County of Waikato as described in the Gazette of 1959 at page 467; thence south-easterly and south-westerly generally along the boundary of that county to the westernmost corner of part Hinuera No. 2 in Block VI, Cambridge Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station Y (Opuahau) in Block X, Cambridge Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 52 (Pukekura) in Block XIV, Cambridge Survey District, to the middle of the Waikato River; thence north-westerly down the middle of that river to the eastern boundary of the Borough of Cambridge as described in the Gazette of 1958 at page 1732; thence northerly, westerly, and southerly along the eastern, northern, and western boundaries of that borough to the middle of the Waikato River; thence north-westerly generally down the middle of that river to and up the middle of the Mangaonua Stream to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Lisettes Road; thence north-westerly to and along that side of Lisettes Road to and along the north-eastern side of the Ruakura Station Road to the north-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 4472; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 3, D.P. 4472, and Lot 4A, D.P. 3916, to the northernmost corner of the said Lot 4A; thence north-westerly along a right line in the direction of the intersection of the southern boundary of Block VI, Komakorau Survey District, with the middle of the Komako-rau Stream, to the middle of the Auckland-Thames Railway; thence north-easterly along the middle of that railway to the point of commencement.
