SPECIAL ORDER

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, as enacted by section 10 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1959, and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves by way of special order that instead of levying the special rates specified in the Schedule hereto, a uniform consolidated special rate of one shilling and six and one half pence (1s. 6½d.) in the pound (£) on all rateable property within the City of Auckland be, and the same is hereby made an annually recurring rate for the purpose of paying the annual charges plus 10 per cent thereof payable in respect of the loans secured by those special rates; and the Auckland City Council hereby further resolves that the consolidated special rate shall be payable in one sum on the 1st day of July in each year at Atwaters Building, Queen Street, Auckland, to Keith Andrew Armstrong, City Treasurer, or at such other place or to such other person for the time being authorised by the Council.

The foregoing special order was passed at a special meeting of the Auckland City Council convened for that purpose and held on the 2nd day of May 1960, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Council held on the 30th day of May 1960, having meantime been advertised in the New Zealand Herald on the 25th day of May 1960 and in the Auckland Star on the 7th day of May 1960.

Hearing of Objections to Papatoetoe District Scheme
THE Papatoetoe Borough Council hereby gives notice that the hearing of objections to the district scheme in respect of that part of the Papatoetoe Borough before the adjustment of boundaries at 1 October 1959 will commence at the Memorial Hall, St. George Street, Papatoetoe, at 9 a.m., on Wednesday, the 21st day of September, and will continue as there arranged from time to time and place to place, until all objectors and witnesses have been heard.
All persons who wish to be heard in support of or opposition to any objection shall notify the Council accordingly at least three days before that date.
The following is a summary of the subject-matters of objections received by the Council:
(a) Objections to provision of Code of Ordinances, and requesting designation of existing church sites: Presbyterian Church Property Trustees (St. John’s Church), 86–126 Great South Road; Papatoetoe Baptist Church, 145 St. George Street; Board of Managers, St. Martin’s Presbyterian Church – Church properties, Wyllie Road and Puhinui Road; The General Trust Board of the Diocese of Auckland, Seddon Avenue; The General Trust Board of the Diocese of Auckland, Landscape Road; Papatoetoe Methodist Church Trustees, Kolmar Road; St. Martin’s Presbyterian Church, Papatoetoe; St. Martin’s Board of Managers, care of 22 Wyllie Road.
