Prescribing Colours for Taxi Drivers' Licences

PURSUANT to subclause (3A) of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister of Transport hereby prescribes that for the licence year commencing on the 1st day of July 1960 the colour of the paper, card, or other similar material issued for a licence to drive a taxicab shall be green or pink.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Bay of Islands County at Okaihau:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 13 chains north-east of its junction with Station Road to a point 3 chains measured in a north-westerly direction from the junction of the said State highway with Horeke Road).

Horeke Road (from its junction with No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 34 chains measured in a south-westerly direction from the said junction).

Station Road (from its junction with No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 3 chains measured in a south-easterly direction from the said junction).

Revoking a Limited Speed Zone

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

So much of the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956†, dated the 1st day of June 1959,* as relates to No. 22 State Highway (Runciman-Tuakau) in Tuakau Borough and specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Tuakau Borough: No. 22 State Highway (Runciman-Tuakau) from Morgans Road to the western boundary of Tuakau Borough.

Consent to Erection of Flashing Red Traffic Control Lights by the Upper Hutt Fire Board

PURSUANT to sub-clause 5 of regulation 18 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Minister of Transport hereby consents to the erection of flashing red lights by the Upper Hutt Fire Board at the two places described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of traffic control in terms of subclause 4 of the said regulation 18.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Upper Hutt Borough on the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) at the two points adjacent to the Upper Hutt Fire Station, more particularly indicated on plan TT. 1794 deposited in the office of the Transport Department at Wellington.
