Authorising the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company Ltd. to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines in the County of Waimairi

At the Government House at Wellington this 6th day of July 1960

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company Ltd., a duly incorporated company having its registered office at Christchurch (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.


CONDITIONS

IMPLIED CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

  1. The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

  1. The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (a) of regulation 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1981.

PURPOSE OF ELECTRIC LINES

  1. The electric lines hereby authorised shall be used only for the purpose of supply to the licensee’s works or factory.

REQUIREMENT OF LOCAL AUTHORITY CONTROLLING ROAD

  1. Where the lines hereby authorised cross Factory Road, they shall be laid at a depth of not less than 3 ft below the surface of the said road and shall be housed in reinforced-concrete conduit.

SCHEDULE

LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of supply hereinbefore described, commencing from the licensee’s substation, situated in Section 50, and proceeding generally in a northerly direction across Factory Road to the licensee’s distribution board, situated in Section 48; all being situated in D.P. 644, part Rural Section 1020, Block 3, Christchurch Survey District, in the County of Waimairi; the said lines being more particularly shown by means of a red line on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 543 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Authorising the Purchase by the Thames Valley Electric Power Board of Certain Electric Works from the New Zealand Electricity Department

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 29th day of June 1960

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 76 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the purchase by the Thames Valley Electric Power Board from the New Zealand Electricity Department of the electric works described in the Schedule hereto for the sum of £5,000.


SCHEDULE

PORTION of the 50,000-volt transmission line between the Bombay substation of the New Zealand Electricity Department in the Franklin County and the Department’s Kerepehi substation in the Hauraki Plains County, the said portion of the line located within the Hauraki Plains County, extending for 12·62 miles between poles No. 254 and 412, inclusive, together with all poles, towers, and associated equipment.

Revoking a Licence Authorising Joseph Stanley Bailey, of Tutaki, Farmer, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity and to Erect Certain Electric Lines

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 27th day of March 1957 and published in the Gazette on the 28th day of the same month at page 540, authorising Joseph Stanley Bailey, of Tutaki, farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 29th day of September 1948 and published in the Gazette on the 30th day of the same month at page 1228, authorising Leonard William Todd, of Tutaki, Murchison, farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity.

The Tawa College Board of Governors Order 1960

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 90 of the Education Act 1914, as amended by section 10 of the Education Amendment Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Tawa College Board of Governors Order 1960.

  2. The constitution of the Board of Governors of Tawa College, prescribed by section 90 of the Education Act 1914, is hereby varied so that the school shall be controlled by a Board of Governors constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Wellington Education Board:

(b) Five members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school:

(c) One member appointed by the Governor-General:

(d) One member appointed by the Tawa Borough Council:

(e) One member elected by the members of the school committees of the Tawa Public School and the Linden Public School:

(f) One member to be co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit:

Provided that, until the school is opened and the election of members by the parents of the pupils attending the school is held, the school shall be controlled by a Board consisting of the other members.

  1. The Minister of Education may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, amend the list of schools to which paragraph (e) of clause 2 of this order applies.
