Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 11 of the Housing Act 1955, His Excel-
lency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
orders and declares that the service lane described in the
Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in
Council, vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the
City of Lower Hutt, and be under the control and manage-
ment of the Lower Hutt City Council.

SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 2·94 perches, situated in
the City of Lower Hutt, Wellington R.D., being part Lot 4,
D.P. 17432, being part Subdivisions 2 and 5 of Section 36,
Hutt District; as the same is more particularly delineated on
the plan marked P.W.D. 157403 (S.O. 23967) deposited in
the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured orange.

Exempting Land in Block X, Mapara Survey District, from the
Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925 and
Declaring it to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government hereby gives the following
notice:
NOTICE

  1. The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby
    exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines
    Act 1925.
  2. The said land is hereby declared to be Crown land sub-
    ject to the Land Act 1948.
    SCHEDULE
    ALL that parcel of land containing 1 rood 31·8 perches,
    more or less, being Lots 2 and 3 on Deposited Plan 8484,
    being part Rangitoto-Tuhua 79C1 Block, situated in Block X,
    Mapara Survey District, and being part of the land in
    certificate of title, Volume 248, folio 25 (Taranaki Registry),
    subject to a building-line restriction 33 ft from the centre
    line of unnamed road, created by W. 9752.
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator
    of the Government this 10th day of May 1960.

Appointment, Promotions, Extension of Commission, Transfers,
Cancellation of Commission, and Retirement of Officers of
the Royal New Zealand Air Force

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force
Act 1950, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government,
has been pleased to approve the following appointment, pro-
motions, extension of commission, transfers, cancellation of
commission, and retirement of officers of the Royal New
Zealand Air Force.

GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Promotion
Pilot Officer Peter John Foster (79207) to be Flying
Officer, with effect from 24 April 1960.
Extension of Commission
Flying Officer Brian Gordon Anderson (915197) is granted
an extension of his present commission until 27 August 1963.

Cancellation of Commission
The commission of Acting Pilot Officer Peter John McEwen
(693133) is cancelled, with effect from 30 April 1960.

TECHNICAL BRANCH
Transfers to the Retired List
Engineer Division
The under-mentioned Flight Lieutenants are transferred to
the Retired List “A”, with effect from the date shown:

WOMEN'S ROYAL NEW ZEALAND AIR FORCE
REGULAR SECTION
Promotion
Flight Officer Eileen Joyce Peat (70342) to be Squadron
Officer, with effect from 14 April 1960.

AIR TRAINING CORPS
Appointment
Bruce James Candy, M.SC., is granted a commission in the
Air Training Corps in the rank of Pilot Officer, with seniority
and effect from 20 April 1960.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS
Transfer
Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Kenneth Eric Webley Melvin,
B.MED.SC., M.B., CH.B. (329637), is transferred from the General
Duties Branch to the Medical Branch in his present rank and
seniority, with effect from 16 December 1959.

Retirement
Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Frank Edward Cooper (70129)
is retired, with effect from 10 April 1960.
