BOROUGH OF TAKAPUNA

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953 AND AMENDMENTS

AN application has been received by the Takapuna Borough Council from the Secretary of Suburban Stores Ltd., owner of Lots 6 and 7, D.P. 33790, of Allotment 84, Kitchener Road, Takapuna, for consent, under section 38A of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, as enacted by section 26 of the Town and Country Planning Amendment Act 1957, to change the character of use of the first floor of the company’s premises at 75 Kitchener Road, Milford, erected for the purpose of office accommodation and now proposed to be used as an extension to the activities of the Belgrade Restaurant and provide for catering for small parties, meetings, and similar gatherings.

Any person wishing to object to this proposal should lodge an objection in writing, addressed to the Town Clerk, Takapuna, by 4 p.m., on the 13th day of June 1960, stating therein the grounds of objection, whether the objector wishes to be heard by the Bylaws and Town Planning Committee of the Council in regard to his objection, and giving an address for service.

BOROUGH OF EAST COAST BAYS

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, public notice is hereby given that the district scheme, under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, for the East Coast Bays Borough was approved by the Council by resolution passed at its meeting held on the 4th day of May 1960, after all objections, appeals, and arbitrations relating to the scheme had been disposed of and the scheme had been amended to give effect to all objections and appeals allowed and all variations of the scheme required by the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board had been incorporated.

The Council has also resolved that the scheme shall come into operation on the 16th day of May 1960.

Copies of the scheme as approved have been deposited in the Council’s office and may be inspected, without fee, by any person who so requires at any time when it is open to the public.

BOROUGH OF ASHBURTON

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to a resolution of the Ashburton Borough Council made on the 9th day of November 1959, the following alteration to the district scheme has been recommended for approval under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953:

  1. That the following use be included in Ordinance 9, Commercial “A” zones, conditional uses:

  2. Commercial garages and stores for the sale of petroleum by retail and garages for running repairs in cases where the floor space to be used for repair work does not exceed 1,000 square feet and where access from the streets in each case is to the approval of the Council.

A copy of the Ashburton District Scheme Code of Ordinances relating to the above alteration has been deposited in the Municipal Chambers, Havelock Street, Ashburton, and the Public Library, Havelock Street, Ashburton, and is there open for inspection, without fee, to all persons interested therein at any time when the above places are open to the public.

Objections to the scheme or to any part thereof shall be in writing in the form No. 4 prescribed in the First Schedule of the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, and shall be lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than 11 August 1960. At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection, and any person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he notifies the Town Clerk in writing within a period of which public notice will be given.

SOUTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD

In the matter of the South Canterbury Catchment Board Act 1946.

WHEREAS section 10 (1) and (2) of the South Canterbury Catchment Board Act 1946 provided that the Ashburton Borough Council should, as from the 1st day of April 1946, pay to the South Canterbury Catchment Board annually 33⅓ per centum of the interest payments and sinking fund payable in respect of the special loans recited in that section; and that the said Borough Council should also, as from that date, pay to the South Canterbury Catchment Board annually 33⅓ per centum of the maintenance costs incurred or to be incurred in maintaining in good order and condition the river protection works constructed, or to be constructed, out of the proceeds of the special loans recited as aforesaid; and whereas the area of the Borough of Ashburton has since been increased by including further lands formerly part of the subdivisions referred to in the said Act; and whereas, on the 10th day of September 1959, the South Canterbury Catchment Board resolved that, in its opinion, the above proportion has substantially altered in accordance with the provisions contained in the said Act; and whereas the Ashburton Borough Council and the Ashburton County Council have agreed that the proportion which shall be paid by the Ashburton Borough Council should be increased as hereinafter set out.

Now, therefore, notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 8 (c) of section 10 of the South Canterbury Catchment Board Act 1946, that, as from the 1st day of April 1960, the proportion payable by the Ashburton County Council in terms of subsections (1) and (2) of the said section 10 shall be increased to thirty-seven and three-tenths (37·3) per centum.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to Private Bills and in the matter of a Private Bill intituled “An Act to extend the terms of a certain deed of trust, known as the Wanganui Orphanage Trust, to enable the assets and income thereof to be applied for the assistance of intellectually handicapped children.”

NOTICE is hereby given that Ernest Harry Poynter, of Wanganui, bookseller, and William Charles Fairhall Treadwell, of Wanganui, solicitor, intend to apply for leave to bring into the House of Representatives at the ensuing session a Private Bill intituled as above.

The objects of the said Bill are to effect an extension of the terms of a trust established in the year 1890 and known as Wanganui Orphanage Trust so as to enable the assets and income thereof to be applied for the assistance of intellectually handicapped children.

The promoters of the Bill are the said Ernest Harry Poynter and William Charles Fairhall Treadwell, whose address is care of Messrs Treadwell, Gordon, Clayton, and Swan, Solicitors, 81 Ridgway Street, Wanganui, to which address all communications and notices may be sent and at which address a copy of the Bill may be inspected.
