Waitaki Acclimatisation District

Wellington Acclimatisation District

(1) The Awapuni Lagoon situated on the property of the Manawatu Racing Club.

(2) Kairanga County Council Lagoon, being Lot 1, D.P. 3184, part Rural Section 364, Palmerston North, containing 23 acres 1 rood 20 perches, the property of the Kairanga County Council.

(3) The Glenmorven Estate, situated in the Paraekaretu Block, being Section 1, Block XI, Onga Survey District; Sections 124 and 125, Paraekaretu Block, and closed road, and Lots 1–4, D.P. 9948, being part Section 2, Block XI, Onga Survey District, and part Hapapo Block; also Sections 118–9, 121–2, and part Sections 114–5, 116–7, Paraekaretu Block, and closed road, Block XI, Onga Survey District; also Sections 113 to 120, Block XI, Onga Survey District, being the property of Mr Grant Simpson, of Hunterville.

West Coast Acclimatisation District

(1) Area at the mouth of the Buller River. All that area in the Nelson Land District, Buller County, containing by admeasurement 650 acres, more or less, situated in Block II, Steeples Survey District, and Block III, Kawatiri Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point being the intersection of the middle line of the Buller River and the middle line of the road and railway bridge over the Buller River in Block III, Kawatiri Survey District; thence generally westerly and north-westerly by the middle line of the aforesaid bridge and the Westport-Carters Beach Road to its intersection with the aerodrome road in Block 11, Steeples Survey District; thence generally easterly along the middle line of the said aerodrome road and that line produced to the middle line of the Buller River; thence generally southerly along the middle line of that river to the point of commencement; excepting therefrom that area declared a wildlife refuge (Gazette, 1957, page 825).

(2) Lake Haupiri. All that area in the Westland Land District situated in Block VII, Kopara Survey District, being Lake Haupiri and the area of land lying within 20 chains of the shores thereof.

(3) Cobden. Northern moiety of Section 2952, Block IV, Cobden Survey District, and being part of the land contained in provisional certificate of title, Volume 9, folio 1, Westland Register: Area, 1 acre and 22·1 perches. Two miles from Greymouth Post Office on the Cobden-Point Elizabeth Coast Road.

(4) Greymouth Racecourse Reserve. All that area in the Westland Land District being Recreation Reserve No. 34 and bounded on the north generally by the Grey River, and on the north-east by the western boundaries of Sections 1420, 2122, 2123 and 1419 in Block IX, Arnold Survey District, and on the south and west generally by the southern and western boundaries of the said Recreation Reserve No. 34. Also all that area bounded on the east generally by the left bank of the Omotumotu Creek, from its confluence with the Grey River to its intersection with the western boundary of the railway reserve; thence northerly generally along the said western boundary to a point opposite the confluence of the Omotumotu Creek with the Grey River; thence by a right line to the point of commencement.

Westland Acclimatisation District

(1) Okarito Township Reserve No. 654, Block XI, Okarito Survey District. Add the following words “being that portion of the Okarito Lagoon on the south side of the Okarito Road”.

(2) The Otatoki Creek and its tributaries to within 3 chains of the Okarito Lagoon, as may be further defined by the erection of white-painted posts.

Whangarei Acclimatisation District

(1) Mount Denby golf links, the property of the Whangarei Golf Club, being part Allotment 2, Whangarei Parish, Block VIII, Purua Survey District, Block V, Whangarei Survey District, containing 142 acres 1 rood 22 perches.

(2) The property of R. K. Trimmer, being part Lot 6, Lots 7, 12, and 13, D.P. 1583 of Allotment 51, Whangarei Parish, Block VIII, Purua Survey District, and Block V, Whangarei Survey District, containing 158 acres 1 rood 13 perches.

(3) Edward A. Higgins’ game farm at Ngararatunua, part Rawhitiroa Block, Purua Survey District, containing 12 acres 2 roods.

(4) The property of Thomas W. Wakelin, Sections 68, 69, and 70, Whangarei Parish, Block XII, Purua Survey District, containing 128 acres 2 roods.
