WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Airport Improvement Loan 1960 of £50,000

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wanganui City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and principal repayments of a special loan of £50,000, to be known as Airport Improvement Loan 1960, authorised to be raised by the Wanganui City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of hardpaving the runway and taxiway and installing drainage therefrom at the Wanganui Airport, the said Wanganui City Council makes and levies a special rate of two hundred and fifty-eight thousandths (0·258) of a penny in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wanganui the boundaries whereof are defined in the Gazettes of the 14th day of March 1957, No. 22, at pages 485 and 486, of the 29th day of August 1957, No. 62, at page 1579, of the 9th day of January 1958, No. 2, at page 16, and of the 21st day of August 1958, No. 52, at page 1104; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years from the date of the raising of the said loan, or until the said loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at the meeting of the Wanganui City Council held on the 11th day of April 1960.

HOROWHENUA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

E.R.L. Loan (No. 13) 1959 of £200,000: Issue of £50,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its amendments, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Horowhenua Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the principal, interest, and other charges on the Board’s Electric Reticulation Loan (No. 13) 1959 of £200,000 authorised to be raised by the Horowhenua Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of supplying and distributing electrical energy for the benefit of the Horowhenua Electric Power Board District, and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things which the Board is empowered to do by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925 and its amendments, and by all other powers and authorities it enabling, the Horowhenua Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/9th (one-ninth of a penny) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Horowhenua Electric Power Board District, such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 20th day of April in each and every year, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully repaid.”

MARLBOROUGH ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, and all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Marlborough Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Board’s Reticulation Loan 1960 of forty-five thousand pounds (£45,000) authorised to be raised by the Marlborough Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of further reticulating the Marlborough Electric Power District, the Marlborough Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of five one-hundredths of one penny (0·05d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) on all rateable property in the Marlborough Electric Power District; such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and to be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of the loan being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully repaid.”

THE WANGANUI-RANGITIKEI ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board’s Reticulation Loan 1960, £150,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and repayment charges and all other expenses on the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board’s Reticulation Loan 1960, £150,000, to be raised pursuant to the above-mentioned authority, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twelfth part of a penny (1/12d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all the rateable property in the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the aforesaid loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, to be raised for a period of 20 years.”

HAWKE’S BAY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925 and the Public Works Act 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, to provide access for land taken for electric works in the Borough of Havelock North and for the purpose of such public work an easement of right of way over the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Town Clerk to the Havelock North Borough Council in Middle Road, Havelock North, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the General Manager at the offices of the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board in Heretaunga Street, Hastings.

SCHEDULE

EIGHTEEN decimal two perches (18·2p.), being part of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 2356, being part Suburban Section 28, Havelock North, situate in the Land Registration District and Land District of Hawke’s Bay; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 3222 deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Napier, and thereon coloured blue.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL

Waihi Beach Water Supply Loan 1959, £40,500

PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Waihi Beach Riding taken on the 9th day of April 1960 on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of £40,500, to be known as the Waihi Beach Water Supply Loan 1959, for the purpose of providing a water supply, including reticulation, for the Waihi Beach Riding, resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 303
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 44
The number of informal votes was …… …… 2
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
