Boundaries of Borough of Ashburton, County of Ashburton and Wakanui and Upper Ashburton Ridings of County of Ashburton Defined
PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Ashburton, the County of Ashburton, and the Wakanui and Upper Ashburton Ridings of the County of Ashburton, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on the 16th day of December 1959 and published in Gazette, 17 December 1959, No. 78, page 1922.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF ASHBURTON
All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the north-west side of West Street and the south-west side of Racecourse Road and proceeding southerly generally across West Street to and along the eastern boundary of Reserve 2909 (South Island Main Trunk Railway) and the north-western side of East Street to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Reserve 4878; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Reserve 2644 to and across Bridge Street and along the south-western side
of Taurangi Road to a point distant 250 links from the south-eastern side of Bridge Street; thence south-westerly along a line parallel to and 250 links distant from the south-eastern side of Bridge Street to the westernmost corner of Lot 6, D.P. 13311; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that lot to the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 10505; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the northernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 10505; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of that lot and its production to the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 11462; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that lot to its northernmost corner; thence again south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 3, D.P. 11462 to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 11462; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 4 and 5, D.P. 11462 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the south-eastern side of part Lot 7, D.P. 988; thence south-westerly along that boundary and the south-eastern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 15602 to the north-eastern side of Albert Street; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern side of Albert Street to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Trevors Road; thence south-westerly to and along that roadside and its production to the left bank of the Ashburton River; thence north-westerly along the left bank of that river to a point 1 chain south of the
