Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945 and Consequential Revocations
Pursuant to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby declares parts of the New Plymouth Tribal District, more particularly described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, with the respective names therein set out, and hereby revokes the notice dated 7 December 1948 and published in the Gazette on 16 December 1948, Volume III, page 1548, in so far as it affects the New Plymouth Tribal District.
SCHEDULE
New Plymouth Tribal District Moturoa Tribal Committee Area All that area bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Lot 32 on D.P. 1704, being a point on the boundary of the City of New Plymouth as described in Gazette, No. 72, of 1955, at page 1818; thence proceeding south-westerly, north-westerly, and north-easterly generally along that city boundary to the south-western side of Belt Road; thence south-easterly along the south-western sides of that road and Sanders Avenue to the north-western side of Clawton Street, and a right line to the point of commencement.
Central Tribal Committee Area All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-western side of Belt Road and the sea coast and proceeding easterly along the sea coast to the south-western side of Hobson Street; thence south-easterly along the south-western side of that street and its production to the left bank of the Henui River, being a point on the boundary of the City of New Plymouth as described in Gazette, No. 72, of 1955, at page 1818; thence south-westerly and north-westerly generally along that city boundary to the north-western corner of Lot 32, D.P. 1704; thence north-westerly along a right line to the intersection of the north-western side of Clawton Street and the south-western side of Sanders Avenue; thence north-westerly along the south-western sides of Sanders Avenue and Belt Road to the point of commencement.
Fitzroy Tribal Committee Area All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-western side of Hobson Street and the sea coast and proceeding north-easterly generally along the sea coast to the mouth of the Waiwakaiho River; thence along the left bank of that river to a point in line with the south-western side of Smart Road; thence south-easterly to and along the south-western side of Smart Road to the south-eastern boundary of Section 186, Hua and Waiwakaiho District; thence south-westerly along that boundary and its production to the left bank of the Waiwakaiho River, being a point on the boundary of the City of New Plymouth as
