In the matter of the Companies Act 1955 and in the matter of A. R. Morgan Ltd.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 291 (3) of the Companies Act 1955, that a meeting of creditors of the above-named company will be held at the offices of Messrs Donovan, Nash, and Hosking, Public Accountants, 57 High Street, Lower Hutt, on Wednesday, 30 March 1960, at 2.30 p.m., for the purpose of—

(a) Having an account laid before it showing how the winding up has been conducted and the property of the company has been disposed of, and to receive any explanation thereof by the liquidators.

(b) Deciding, by extraordinary resolution, on the disposal of the books and papers of the company.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of Bruce Waugh Ltd. will be held on the 25th day of March 1960, at which a resolution for voluntary winding up is to be proposed; and that a meeting of the creditors of the company will be held, pursuant to section 284 of the Companies Act 1955, at the Courthouse, Bristol Street, Levin, on Friday, the 25th day of March 1960, at 2 p.m., at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 285 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company and, in pursuance of section 286 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 4th day of March 1960, presented to the said Court by John Joseph Schollum, bookseller, and Roland Perceval Towle, solicitor, both of Auckland; and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Auckland on Friday, the 25th day of March 1960, at 10 a.m.; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of any order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished by the undersigned to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring a copy on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ABANDON THE SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE

PURSUANT to section 44 (2) of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Vincent, taken on the 5th day of March 1960, on a proposal to abandon the system of rating on unimproved value:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 567
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 726
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

BOROUGH OF BIRKENHEAD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of one hundred and fifty thousand pounds (£150,000) authorised to be raised by the Birkenhead Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for street improvement works (known as the Birkenhead Streets Improvements Loan 1960), the said Birkenhead Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of twopence (2d.) in the pound upon the rateable value based on the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Birkenhead, comprising the whole of the Borough of Birkenhead; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above is a certified copy of a resolution passed at a special meeting of the Birkenhead Borough Council held on the 11th day of March 1960.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Wellington City Housing Loan No. 1, 1956 of £200,000

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Monday, the 7th day of March 1960:

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of two hundred thousand pounds (£200,000) to be known as the Wellington City Housing Loan No. 1, 1956 of £200,000 authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting workers dwellings, acquiring land and existing dwellings, and repairing, altering, or converting such existing dwellings, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of eighty-one eight-hundredths of a penny (81/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
