Closely Populated Locality Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the roads and portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

Revoking a Closely Populated Locality

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936 dated the 11th day of January 1938,* which relates to part of the Napier-Hastings via Fernhill Main Highway No. 28 in Hawke’s Bay County in hereby revoked.

Approval of Testing Officer Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Motor Vehicles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1956

PURSUANT to clause (2) of regulation 41 and regulation 63 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Minister of Transport hereby approves for the purposes of the said regulations red reflectors of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

TAIL-lamp assemblies incorporating reflex reflectors marked “Guide R2-59” fitted as standard equipment to 1959 model Pontiac passenger vehicles.

Combined “Bus Stop” and “Parking” Sign

PURSUANT to subclause (2) of regulation 120 of the Traffic Regulations 156,* the Minister of Transport hereby prescribes, as provided in the Schedule hereto, the dimensions, shape, colours, and wording of a traffic sign to combine a sign of Class D number 6 and a sign of Class D number 9 as described by subclause (1) of the said regulation.

[Diagonal black triangle with white "P 60"]

The upper portion of the sign shall consist of black letters and numerals on a yellow ground. The lower portion of the sign shall consist of yellow numerals and letter on a black ground.

NOTE—The numerals are for illustration only and may be replaced by other appropriate numerals.

Declaring Land to be Subject to the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Tamata Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 330 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on and from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.
