Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Arthur’s Pass and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 30th day of November 1959.

The Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957, Amendment No. 21
Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby gives the following notice:

This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957, Amendment No. 21, and shall be read together with and deemed to be part of the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

This notice shall come into force on the 27th day of November 1959.
-
The principal notice shall cease to apply in respect of the services set out in the Schedule hereto.
-
The principal notice is hereby consequentially amended by omitting from the Schedule thereto all references to the services referred to in the Schedule in respect of which, pursuant to clause 3 hereof, the principal notice no longer applies.

Limited Speed Zone Declared and Closely Populated Locality Declared
Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

The road specified in the First Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

Edmonton Road (from a point 3 chains north-east of its junction with Rangeview Road to the northern boundary of Henderson Borough).

Compensation Claims by Former Residents of the Saar District
The Acting Minister of External Affairs has been informed that, as a consequence of the reunion of the Saar District with the Federal Republic of Germany, certain German laws concerning compensation for persons persecuted under the Nazi régime have now been extended to the Saar District. Applications for compensation may be made by persons in New Zealand formerly residing in the Saar District. The closing date for applications is 31 December 1959.
Further information may be obtained from the Legation of the Federal Republic of Germany, 3 Claremont Grove, Wellington C. 4.

Claims Against Former German Assets in Federation of Malaya
The Acting Minister of External Affairs has been informed that the Administrator of German Enemy Property in the Federation of Malaya has invited claims from creditors of the German State, German nationals, or corporations in respect of obligations incurred before 3 September 1939. Creditors who may make claims are limited to British subjects or protected persons resident or carrying on business in the Federation of Malaya, and firms and corporations constituted under the laws of the Federation. Claims are to be submitted by 31 December 1959.
Further information and appropriate claim forms are obtainable from the Administrator of German Enemy Property, Federation of Malaya, Victory Avenue, Kuala Lumpur.

Road Closed by Order of the Maori Land Court
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 425 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori Land Court has made an order dated 24 July 1958, firstly declaring those pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a closed road, and secondly, vesting the ownership thereof in the owners of the respective lands in the said Schedule.
