road produced to the line of mean high water of the
Tauranga Harbour; thence south-easterly generally along the
line of mean high water of the said harbour and the line of
mean high water of the Waikareao Estuary to and along the
south-western side of the land taken for the East Coast Main
Trunk Railway by Gazette, 1923, page 563, along the line
of mean high water of the aforesaid Estuary to and along the
line of mean high water of the Tauranga Harbour to the
point of commencement.
Also Section 8, Block X, Tauranga Survey District (Recreation
Reserve known as Motuopuhi or Rat Island).
BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF TAURANGA
All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing in Block I, Katikati North Survey
District, on the shores of the Bay of Plenty known as Te
Ararimu, being the south-eastern corner of part Lot 1, D.P.
28882, and proceeding south-easterly generally along the
shores of the Bay of Plenty to the north-eastern corner of
Waewaehikitia No. 1 Block, in Block IV, Waihi South Survey
District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of
Waewaehikitia No. 1 Block aforesaid, along a right line
across the East Coast Main Trunk Railway to and along the
eastern boundaries of Urupa Block and Waewaehikitia 2B,
2A, and 3 Blocks, along a right line across a public road to
and along the eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 8636,
along a right line across the Paeroa-Whakatane Main High-
way, to and along the eastern boundaries of Lots 2, 4, and
6, D.P. 35929, Lots 15, 14, part 13, 11, and 10, D.P. 8636,
along the eastern boundaries of Tahunaroa 3A Block, and
Section 6, Block VI, Waihi South Survey District, to its
south-eastern corner; thence along a right line in the direction
of the north-western corner of part Section 15, Block XI,
Rotoma Survey District, to the northern boundary of Section
12, Block VII, Rotoma Survey District; thence westerly gen-
erally along the northern boundary of the aforesaid Section 12,
along a right line across the Rotoma-Matata Main Highway
to and along the northern boundary of Section 8, Block VII
aforesaid, along the northern boundaries of Sections 15 and
18, Block VI, Rotoma Survey District, and along a right line
being that boundary produced to the middle of the Ponga-
kawa-Rotoehu road; thence north-westerly generally along
the middle of that road to a point in line with the northern
boundary of Section 2, Block I, Rotoma Survey District;
thence westerly generally along a right line to and along the
aforesaid northern boundary and along a right line being the
last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the
Pongakawa Stream; thence up the middle of that stream, to
and along the northern boundaries of part Rotoiti 5B, 5A, part
4, and 3v Blocks, crossing the intervening Kaikokopu and
Maniatutu Roads, and along a right line, being the last-
mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Pokopoko
Stream; thence down the middle of that stream to a point in
line with the northern boundary of part Waipapa 1D Block;
thence along a right line to and along that northern boundary
and along another right line, being the last-mentioned boun-
dary produced to the middle of the Te Ngae - Paengaroa Main
Highway; thence northerly generally along the middle of
that highway to a point in line with the north-eastern
boundary of Okere 1E Block; thence westerly generally along
a right line to and along the north-eastern boundary of the
said Okere 1E Block and along a right line, being the last-
mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Kaituna
River; thence down the middle of that river to a point in
line with the northern boundary of Ngatipahiko B 1B Block;
thence along a right line to and along the northern boundary
of the said block, along the northern boundaries of Sections
2 and 1, Block II, Rotoiti Survey District, the abutment of
Kapukapu Road and the northern boundary of Section 9,
Block I, Rotoiti Survey District, and along a right line, being
the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the
Mangorewa River; thence up the middle of the said river to
and up the middle of the Ohaupara Stream to a point in line
with the north-western boundary of Section 13, Block III,
Rotorua Survey District; thence along a right line to and
along that north-western boundary to and along the north-
eastern boundary of Taumata 3A 1B Block to its intersection
with a right line between the westernmost corner of Section
9, Block V, Horohoro Survey District, and Trig. Station 27
(Puwhenua), being the easternmost corner of Block VII,
Tapapa East Survey District; thence northerly generally along
the said right line to Trig. Station 27 aforesaid, and along
another right line to Trig. Station 146 (Te Weraiti), being
the westernmost corner of Block IV, Opoutihi Survey Dis-
trict; thence along another right line to Trig. Station 909
(Waianuanu), being the easternmost corner of Block XVI,
Wairere Survey District; thence along the generally north-
eastern boundaries of Okauia 1 Block, Maurihoro A (Crown
land), Maurihoro B and Waiharakeke East 5, 1A, 1c 2B 2,
and 1c 1A Blocks, part Section 20, Block III, Wairere Survey
District, as shown on D.P. 28359, along a right line across
Thompsons Track, part of Section 20, shown on D.P. 4110,
part Section 20, shown on D.P. 26605, another part of Section
20, Block III aforesaid (State forest, Gazette, 1955, page
1829), Lot 5, D.P. 25781, to the northernmost angle in its
northern boundary; thence again northerly generally along the
eastern boundary of the original Aroha Block as shown on
M.L. 3062, being through State forests in Block X, Aongatete
Survey District, and Blocks VII and XI, Katikati Survey
District, to its intersection with a right line between Trig.
Station M.A. (Ngakuriawhare) on the north-western boundary
of Block II, Katikati Survey District, and Trig. Station 567
D
(Te Aroha), being the westernmost corner of Block XI,
Katikati Survey District; thence south-westerly along the said
right line to Trig. Station 567 aforesaid; thence north-easterly
generally along a right line to the western corner of Section 3,
Block VII, Aroha Survey District, and along the south-
western boundaries of Section 3 aforesaid, Section 3, Block
VIII, Aroha Survey District, Section 1, Block XII, Katikati
Survey District, and Section 36, Block IV, Katikati Survey
District, to and along the southern and eastern boundaries
of Section 34, Block IV aforesaid, the southern boundaries
of Section 26, Block IV aforesaid, a right line across a public
road to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of
Section 27 of the said Block IV and the eastern boundary of
Section 2, Block XII, Katikati Survey District, to and along
the southern boundaries of part Section 50, Block IV, Aroha
Survey District, to and along the south-western side of the
Waihi-Tauranga Main Highway to a point being the pro-
duction south-westerly of the south-eastern boundary of Lot 9,
D.P. 28257; thence along a right line across the aforesaid
highway, to and along the said south-eastern boundary and
along another right line across the East Coast Main Trunk
Railway to and along the generally south-eastern boundaries
of Lots 2, 5, and 4, D.P. 28257, and part Section 5, Block I,
Katikati North Survey District, to and along the southern
boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 28882, to the point of com-
mencement; excluding thereout the Borough of Tauranga as
hereinbefore described, the Borough of Te Puke as described
in Gazette, 1935, page 1017, and the Borough of Mount
Maunganui as described in Gazette, 1954, page 1266.
BOUNDARIES OF WAIMAPU RIDING
All that area in the South Auckland Land District in the
Tauranga County bounded by a line commencing at Trig.
Station 909 (Waianuanu) on the western boundary of Block
II, Opoutihi Survey District, and proceeding easterly gen-
erally along the north-eastern boundary of Mangatotara 1A
Block to and north-easterly generally along the left bank
of the Ngamuwahine River to and along the south-eastern
boundaries of the part Kumikumi No. 1 Block shown on D.P.
7156, and parts Kumikumi No. 2 Block, to and along the
left bank of the Wairoa River, to and along the line of
mean high water of the southern shores of the Tauranga
Harbour to the western boundary of the Borough of Tau-
ranga; thence southerly generally along the boundary of the
said borough as hereinbefore described to the south-western
side of Faulkner Street; thence north-westerly along that side
of the said street to and again southerly along the generally
eastern boundary of Allotment 524, Te Papa Parish, along a
right line across a public road to and along the generally
eastern boundary of Allotment 527, Te Papa Parish, and
along the north-eastern side of Chadwick Road to a point in
line with the north-western boundary of Allotment 245,
Suburbs of Greerton; thence along a right line to and along
that north-western boundary, along the north-western boun-
dary of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. S. 1360, and along the north-eastern
boundary of Allotment 22, Te Papa Parish (Tauranga Race-
course Domain), to and along the north-western side of the
Tauranga-Piarere State Highway to a point in line with the
north-eastern boundary of Lot 3, Deeds Plan 239; thence
easterly generally along a right line to and along the north-
eastern boundaries of Lots 3 and 4, Deeds Plan 239 aforesaid,
along the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 31, the north-
western boundary of Allotment 33 and the north-western,
north-eastern, and eastern boundaries of Allotment 34, all
the aforesaid allotments being of Te Papa Parish, to a public
road; thence due east along a right line across that road to and
along the left bank of the Waimapu River, and along the line
of mean high water of the Tauranga Harbour to and along
the southern boundary of the Borough of Tauranga as here-
inbefore described to the left bank of the Kaitemako Stream;
thence southerly generally along that left bank to and along
the north-western and eastern boundaries of part Lot 1, D.P.
9292, and the eastern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 9292, in
Block XV, Tauranga Survey District, and Block IV, Otane-
wainuku Survey District, along the eastern boundary of Lot
5, D.P. 7603, and the northern and eastern boundaries of Lot
2, D.P. S. 1502, along the eastern boundary of Section 10s and
the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 14s, both of
Ohauiti Settlement, along a right line across a public road to
and along the southern boundary of Lot 13, D.P. 7603, along
the eastern boundaries of Sections 15s, 16s, 26s, 27s, and
29s, the eastern end of a public road and the eastern boundary
of Section 30s, all the aforesaid sections being of Ohauiti
Settlement, along the northern and eastern boundaries of
Waoku 2A Block, the eastern boundaries of Waoku 2B Block,
part Waoku 2 Block, Lot 4, D.P. S. 4771³, Lots 1, 2, and 3, D.P.
S. 5469, Lot 1, D.P. S. 4771⁴, another part of Waoku 2 Block,
and Section 3, Block XVI, Otanewainuku Survey District, and
along a right line being the last-mentioned eastern boundary
produced to the middle of a public road; thence again
southerly generally along the middle of that road to a point
in line with the eastern boundary of Taumata 3c East B
Block; thence along a right line to and along that eastern
boundary and the eastern boundary of Taumata 3A 2B Block
crossing two intervening public roads, and along a right line
being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle
of the Mangorewa River; thence westerly and north-westerly
generally along the boundaries of the County of Tauranga
as hereinbefore described to the point of commencement.
