Boundaries of Borough of Tauranga, County of Tauranga, and Waimapu Riding of County of Tauranga Defined
PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Tauranga, the County of Tauranga, and the Waimapu Riding of the County of Tauranga, the previous boundaries having been altered by Orders in Council made on the 23rd day of December 1958 and the 24th day of March 1959 and published in Gazette, 15 January 1959, No. 2, page 10, and 25 March 1959, No. 19, page 386, respectively.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF TAURANGA
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block X, Tauranga Survey District, on the line of mean high water of the Tauranga Harbour and being the north-western corner of Allotment 397, Section 1, Town of Tauranga, and proceeding southerly generally along the said line of mean high water to the southernmost corner of Allotment 887, Section 2, Town of Tauranga; thence again southerly across the Waimapu River Estuary being along the eastern boundary of the area of 3 acres 3 roods, proclaimed road by Gazette, 1957, page 1416 (S.O. Plan 37728), to and north-easterly, southerly, and south-westerly generally along the line of mean high water of the Tauranga Harbour (Maungatapu Peninsula) and along the left bank of the Kaitimako Stream to the north-eastern corner of Hairini 1A 4c 1 Block; thence westerly generally along the northern boundaries of Hairini 1A 4c 1 and 1A 2 Blocks, a right line across Ohautiti Road to and along the northern boundaries of Hairini 5B and 1D Blocks, and along another right line across the Waimapu River Estuary to the north-eastern corner of Lot 93, D.P. S. 2360; thence north-westerly along the northern boundary of the said Lot 93 and the northern boundaries of Lots 92, 81, the northern end of a public road, Lots 16, 116, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3, D.P. S. 2360, and Lot 1, D.P. S. 1870, and the last-mentioned boundary produced across Fraser Street to its north-western side; thence north-westerly generally along the said north-western side of Fraser Street, the south-western side of Courtney Street and the south-eastern side of Cameron Road to a point in line with the south-western side of Twenty-third Avenue; thence again north-westerly along a right line across Cameron Street to and along the aforesaid south-western side of Twenty-third Avenue, the south-western and western sides of Cook Street and the south-western side of Faulkner Street to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 49, Suburbs of Tauranga; thence northerly generally along a right line across Faulkner Street to and along the aforesaid south-eastern
boundary and the south-eastern boundary of part Allotment 523, Te Papa Parish, to the north-western end of the south-western side of Hospital Street; thence along a right line being that south-western side produced across the aforesaid part Allotment 523, to the right bank of the Kopurererua River; thence along the right bank of the said river to and along the southern side of the Paeroa-Whakatane State Highway, along the south-eastern, south-western, and north-western sides of that part of a public road dedicated by transfer No. 252228, to and along the southern side of another part of the said Paeroa-Whakatane State Highway, to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 1, 13, and 14, the end of a public road, Lots 25, 36, and 62, D.P. S. 2364, to and along the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 17807, and the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 79, Te Papa Parish, shown on D.P. 7410, and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of Cambridge Road; thence northerly generally along the middle of the said Cambridge Road, the middle of Pokapu Road, and easterly along the middle of Otumoetai Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 10478; thence along a right line to and along the aforesaid north-western boundary and along the generally northern boundaries of Lots 2 and 3, D.P. S. 2134, Lot 5, D.P. S. 1867, and the northern and eastern boundaries of part Lot 4, D.P. 10478, to and along the northern side of Sutherland Road and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the line of mean high water of the Waikareao Estuary; thence along the said line of mean high water to and across the mouth of the Kopurererua River and again along the mean high water of the said estuary to the western end of the southern side of Elizabeth Street; thence westerly generally along a right line across the Waikareao Estuary to and along the northern boundary of Lots 34 and 13, D.P. S. 199, and along a right line in the direction of the south-eastern corner of all of Lot 1, D.P. 33779, to the middle of Pillans Road; thence along the middle of that road and the middle of Otumoetai Road to a point in line with the southern side of a public road which forms the northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 30217; thence westerly along a right line to and along that southern side and along the northern boundary of part Allotment 647, Te Papa Parish, to and northerly generally along a series of right lines passing through part Lot 1, D.P. S. 1024, and Lots 3, 2, and 1, D.P. S. 2143, being along the western boundary of part Lot 5, D.P. 32934, the southern and western boundaries of part Allotment 455, Te Papa Parish, shown on D.P. 25633, and the generally western and northern boundaries of part Allotment 455 shown on D.P. 21912, to and along the western boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 32128, along a right line across Lot 1, D.P. S. 2143, and again along the western boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 32128, and the western and northern boundaries of Lot 14, D.P. 34679, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of Otumoetai Road; thence northerly
