PURSUANT to section 330 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on and from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Notice of Intention to Destroy Public Records

PURSUANT to section 17 of the Archives Act 1957, notice is hereby given of intention to destroy the following public records:

Air Department—registered files:

These files relate to obsolete signals publications: sundry claims against the Air Department; mileage allowances, travelling allowance claims, imprest accounts, telephone accounts, and Treasury schedules.

These files may be inspected on application to the National Archives, The Terrace, Wellington.

Any person may, within one month after the date of publication of this notice, lodge with the Secretary for Internal Affairs, Wellington, an objection to the destruction of the records specified above, stating therein the grounds of his objection. Such objections will be dealt with in accordance with section 18 of the Archives Act 1957.

Boundaries of City of Wellington, County of Makara, and Makara, Ohariu, and Belmont Ridings of County of Makara Defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the City of Wellington, the County of Makara, and the Makara, Ohariu, and Belmont Ridings of the County of Makara, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on the 1st day of April 1959, and published in Gazette, 2 April 1959, No. 20, page 412.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF CITY OF WELLINGTON

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the high-water mark of Port Nicholson in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 7, Harbour District; thence to and along that boundary to the western side of Hutt Road; thence northerly generally along the north-western side of Hutt Road and the western side of the Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway as shown on S.O. Plans 20493 and 20494 to the intersection of that highway with the eastern side of Fraser Avenue; thence north-easterly along a right line across that highway to its eastern side; thence south-easterly along the said eastern side of the Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway to its intersection with the northern side of Horokiwi Road; thence southerly along a right line to the intersection of the south-eastern side of Horokiwi Road with the eastern side of the Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway; thence easterly along the said south-eastern side of Horokiwi Road to the southern boundary of the land as shown on D.P. 10465, and along that southern boundary to the south-eastern corner of that land; thence easterly along a right line bearing 103° 53′ 25″ as shown on D.P. 16648 to the south-western boundary of Lot 15, D.P. 16648 aforesaid, along that south-western boundary, across part Lot 4, D.P. 3010, along the south-western boundaries of Lots 17, 18, and 19, D.P. 16648 aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot, along the southern boundaries of Lots 19 and 20, D.P. 16648 aforesaid, to and along the generally north-western side of Wakefield Gully Road to the re-entrant road angle on the boundary of Lot 23, D.P. 16648; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundary of the said Lot 43 to and along the south-western side and the abutment of Black Rock Road, to and along the south-western, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 25, D.P. 14838, the north-eastern boundary of Lot 24, D.P. 14838, to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 17, D.P. 2601; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of the said Lot 17, the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 14, D.P. 2601, the north-western boundaries of Lots 7 and 8, D.P. 2205, the north-eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 2205, to a point in line with the north-western boundaries of Lots 20 and 19, D.P. 15078, a right line to and along those boundaries, along the western boundaries of Lots 18 and 17, the western and north-western boundaries of Lot 15, D.P. 15078, the south-western boundaries of Lots 13 and 12, D.P. 15078, the north-western boundary of Lot 12 aforesaid to the northern corner of that lot, along a right line to the eastern corner of Lot 14, D.P. 2205, and along right lines bearing 55½° distance 13 chains approximately, bearing 342½° distance 9 chains approximately, bearing 52½° distance 6 chains approximately to the north-eastern boundary of Section 14, Harbour District, approximately 8 chains from the northern corner of the said Section 14 and along that boundary to the said northern corner; thence northerly along a right line to the eastern corner of Lot 19, D.P. 15268, along the eastern boundaries of that lot, and Lots 18 and 17, D.P. 15268, along the northern boundary of Lot 17 aforesaid, the eastern boundary of Lot 11, D.P. 15268, along a right line across Horokiwi Road to the eastern corner of Lot 6, D.P. 15488; along the north-western side of that road to the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 15269, along that boundary and the generally north-eastern boundaries of that lot to and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 38, 24, and 23, Paparangi Settlement, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Sections 23 and 22, Paparangi Settlement, to the south-eastern side of the motorway; thence south-westerly along that side of the motorway to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 6, Paparangi Settlement, to and along that boundary to the eastern side of the Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway; thence southerly along that side of the highway to the southernmost corner of Section 6, Paparangi Settlement; thence north-westerly across the highway to the opposite road angle, being also a point on the south-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block III, Hawtrey Settlement; thence westerly generally along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Section 3 aforesaid, and Section 2, Block III aforesaid, the north-western side of Hawtrey Terrace, the northern boundaries of Sections 6 and 4, Block III aforesaid, the western boundary of the last-mentioned section, the southern boundary of Section 1, Block III aforesaid, to the eastern boundary of Section 7, Block II, Hawtrey Settlement; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, Block II aforesaid, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly along a right line to the western side of Wingfield Street; thence southerly along the western side of that street and a right line across Ohariu Road to the northern corner of Lot 19, D.P. 8756; thence south-westerly generally along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 19, the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 67 and 65, D.P. 8756, the north-western boundaries of Lots 65, 67, and 50, D.P. 8756 aforesaid, to the north-eastern side of Ironside Road;
