Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under the Licensed Industries Regulations

PURSUANT to regulation 19 of the Licensed Industries Regulations 1957, the Licensed Industries Committee has made the following decisions in respect of applications for licences.
Applicant and Location: United Empire Box Co. Ltd., Tory Street, Wellington.
Nature of Application: For a licence to manufacture multi-walled paper bags.
Decision: Granted subject to conditions.
Date of Decision: 2 November 1959.
Applicant and Location: Stanley Vivian Cosgrave, 522 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland.
Nature of Application: For a licence to manufacture paua (Haliotis iris) shell for sale.
Decision: Granted.
Date of Decision: 28 October 1959.

Revoking Designation of State Highway; Revoking Declaration of Main Highway; Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway and Designating Main Highway to be State Highway

PURSUANT to sections 11 and 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

The main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be designated State highway.

(1) The public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highway.
(2) The Order in Council made on the 2nd day of October 1940* declaring (inter alia) the portion of highway described in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby consequentially amended by revoking as much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said portion of the highway.

The public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

The main highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby designated State highway and shall form part of the Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa State Highway.

This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT NO. 5
Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa
ALL that public highway in the Wairoa County, commencing at a point 35½ chains directly east of the eastern boundary of Waihua A 41 Block, Block XIV, Waihua Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly and a north-westerly direction, passing through the Waipapa Block, Mohaka Township, and the Mohaka Block, and terminating at a point opposite the common boundary of Mohaka Nos. A 41 and A 42 Blocks, Block IX, Waihua Survey District, being a distance of 6 miles 79 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 160174, deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

SECOND SCHEDULE
ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT NO. 5
Gisborne-Napier via Hangaroa
ALL that public highway in the Wairoa County, commencing at a point 35½ chains directly east of the eastern boundary of Waihua A 41 Block, Block XIV, Waihua Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction by way of the new Te Kumi-Mangaturanga Deviation passing through part of Lot 1, D.P. 2612, and parts of the Waipapa and Mohaka Blocks, and terminating at a point opposite the common boundary of Mohaka Nos. A 41 and A 42 Blocks, Block IX, Waihua Survey District, being a distance of 3 miles 50 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 160174, deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Revoking Declaration of Main Highway and Declaring Public Highway to be Main Highway

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with written approval of the Minister of Works hereby gives notice as follows:
- (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highway.
(2) The Order in Council made on 2 April 1928* declaring the public highway described in the First Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby consequentially revoked.

The public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

Yaldhurst-Sheffield
ALL that main highway in the Counties of Paparua and Malvern, declared as the Yaldhurst-Sheffield Main Highway described in the Gazette, No. 29, dated 5 April 1928.

SECOND SCHEDULE
HIGHWAYS DISTRICT NO. 14
West Melton - Sheffield
ALL that portion of road in the Counties of Paparua and Malvern commencing at the junction of Christchurch-Kumara Junction State Highway No. 57 and Halkett Road, being the south-eastern corner of Section 6326, Block XI, Rolleston Survey District, Paparua County; thence proceeding in a generally west-north-westerly direction via Halkett Road to the junction with Lower Waimakariri Road at the north-west corner of Section 6705, Block V, Rolleston S.D., Malvern County; thence in a generally west-north-westerly direction, via Lower Waimakariri Road, to the junction with West Coast Road and Minchins Road being the south-west corner of Section 3636 in Block XIV, Oxford S.D., Malvern County; thence in a generally north-westerly direction via Minchins Road and terminating at the junction with Kaiapoi-Waddington Main Highway No. 112 at the western corner of Section 3625 in Block XIII, Oxford S.D., Malvern County, being a distance of 20 miles 40 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 160267 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.
Of the total length, the distance in Paparua County is 6 miles 45 chains, more or less, of which 2 miles 35 chains is half width, and the distance in Malvern County is 13 miles 75 chains, more or less, of which 2 miles 35 chains is half width.

Renaming of State and Main Highways
——
PURSUANT to sections 11 and 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

The main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall be known as the Auckland-Maungaturoto State Highway.

The main highway described in the Second Schedule shall be known as the Glenfield Main Highway.
