Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Porangahau Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 10 May 1948 and published in the Gazette, 13 May 1948, Volume I, page 512.

Special Order Made by Ohinemuri County Council Altering Riding Boundaries

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Ohinemuri County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 23 and 36 of the Counties Act 1956, the Ohinemuri County Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows:

(1) The present division of the County of Ohinemuri into seven ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into six ridings, to be called respectively, Paeroa Riding, Mangaiti Riding, Komata Riding, Waihi Riding, Waihi Beach Riding, and Waihi West Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

(2) The said Ohinemuri County Council shall consist of 10 members who shall be elected as follows:
(a) The electors of the Mangaiti Riding and the Waihi Beach riding shall each elect one councillor.
(b) The electors of the Paeroa Riding, Komata Riding, Waihi Riding, and Waihi West Riding shall each elect two councillors.

(3) The alteration hereby made shall take effect at the next general election of councillors to be held in the month of November 1959, except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for that election.

MANGAITI RIDING
