Notice of Intention to Take Land for State Housing Purposes in the City of Hastings Being Land Required in Connection with Housing Development in the Frimley Area

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for State housing purposes; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Hastings and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 1 rood 5·5 perches, situated in the City of Hastings, Hawke’s Bay R.D., and being part Heretaunga Block. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 160133 (S.O. 3162) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Wallaceville and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 5th day of October 1959.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared Crown land: 1·21 perches.

Being railway land, being part Section 92, Hutt District, and being part Lot 1, D.P. 21278, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 626, folio 77, Wellington Registry.

Situated in the Borough of Upper Hutt.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 16223 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Dunedin and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 5th day of October 1959.

Revocation of Approval to Issue Warrants of Fitness

PURSUANT to subclause (3) of regulation 52 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes the approval of the firm described in the Schedule hereto to issue warrants of fitness for motor vehicles.

Closely Populated Locality Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 13th day of October 1952,* which relates to the Wanganui-Levin State Highway at Bulls in Rangitikei County, is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rangitikei County at Bulls—

The Waiouru-Bulls State Highway (from a point 2 chains north-east of its junction with Wilson Street to the junction of the said State highway with the Wanganui-Levin State Highway).

The Wanganui-Levin State Highway (from a point 2 chains north of its junction with Howe Street to a point 5 chains south of the junction of Taumaihi Road with the said State highway).

The Bulls - Scott’s Ferry Main Highway (from its junction with the Wanganui-Levin State Highway to a point 34 chains south-west of the said junction).

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SITUATED within Horowhenua County adjacent to Levin Borough—

Kawiu Road (from its junction with Tiro Tiro Road to the junction of MacArthur Street with Kawiu Road).

Fairfield Road (commencing from its junction with MacArthur Street and terminating at a point 16 chains north from the said junction).

The Levin-Hokio Main Highway (from its junction with the Levin-Paekakariki State Highway to the junction of Bruce Road with the Levin-Hokio Main Highway).

Tiro Tiro Road (from its junction with Mako Mako Road to the junction of Kawiu Road with Tiro Tiro Road).

Bartholemew Road, MacArthur Street.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
