BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF HALSWELL

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the middle lines of Halswell Junction Road and Middle Lincoln Road, in Block XIV, Christchurch Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly generally along the middle of the latter road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Rural Section 146; thence south-easterly generally along the boundary of the City of Christchurch, hereinbefore described, to the intersection of the middle of Cashmere Stream with the eastern side of Worsleys Road; thence south-easterly generally along that roadside to the northernmost corner of part Rural Section 37133 (formerly closed road), along the north-eastern boundary of that part rural section to and along the north-eastern side of Worsleys Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of other part Rural Section 37133, across Worsleys Road to and along that boundary to the western side of Summit Road, across that road to the northernmost corner of Reserve 3901 and along the north-eastern boundary of that reserve to the summit of the Port Hills; thence southerly generally along that summit to and along the eastern boundary of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 10264, in Blocks VII and XI, Halswell Survey District, the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Rural Section 1863 and the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Rural Section 1901 to a point in line with the middle of Ahuriri Bush Road South; thence south-westerly generally to and along the middle of that road and Ahuriri and Little River Road to a point in line with the former south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 1069; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary (through Rural Section 37634) and its production to the middle of the Halswell River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river and the middle of Knights Stream to and along the north-western boundary of Rural Section 952 and its production to the middle of Halswell Junction Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF NO. 2 RIDING

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the middle lines of Halswell Road and Hendersons Road, in Block XIV, Christchurch Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly, south-easterly, and southerly generally along the boundary of the County of Halswell, hereinbefore described, to a point in Block VII, Halswell Survey District, on the summit of the Port Hills at the easternmost corner of part Rural Section 34551; thence westerly along the northern boundary of that part rural section and its production to the western side of Summit Road; thence westerly generally through Rural Sections 38523, 38522, 38521, along the northern boundary of former part Rural Section 34551 and its production to and along the northern boundary of former Rural Section 34552, along the western boundary of that former rural section and along the northern boundary of former Rural Section 17739x to the easternmost corner of part Rural Section 3695x; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of that part rural section, and Lot 2, D.P. 1085, and its production to the middle of Rhodes Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road and its production to the middle of the Halswell River; thence northerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in Block II, Halswell Survey District, in line with that north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 1329/1330 measuring 91 links; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary, across the Old Taitapu Road along a right line to the south-western corner of Lot 4, D.P. 5068, and along the south-western boundary of that lot to its westernmost corner; thence north-easterly generally along the north-western boundaries of Lot 4, and part Lot 5, D.P. 5068, Lot 4, D.P. 14253, and Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 14689, to its northernmost corner; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned lot and the south-western side of Kennedys Bush Road to a point in line with the middle of Paterson Avenue; thence northerly generally to and along the middle of Paterson Avenue, north-easterly generally along the middle of Cashmere Road and north-westerly generally along the middle of Hendersons Road to the point of Commencement.

Special Order Made by Waimea County Council Altering Riding Boundaries

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Waimea County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, the Waimea County Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows:

(1) That the Stoke Riding be renamed the Waimea East Riding.

(2) That the electors of the Waimea East Riding shall elect one Councillor.

(3) That the boundaries of the Waimea East, Appleby, and Central Ridings be amended.

(4) That the boundaries of the Waimea East, Appleby, and Central Ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF WAIMEA EAST RIDING

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District situated in the Waimea County, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of a right line bearing 6° distance 4400 links from O.P. XIII, D.P. 1689, with the seaward boundary of Section 34, Square 1, Block III, Waimea Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the City of Nelson as described in Gazette, 1958, pages 1688 and 1689, and proceeding generally south-westerly, south-easterly, north-easterly, south-easterly, and north-easterly, along that boundary to its intersection with the north-western boundary of Section 22, Square 18, situated in Block I, Maungatapu Survey District; thence generally south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the said Section 22 to the meridian of Botanical Hill; thence southerly along that meridian to the northern boundary of Section 8, Block IV, Maungatapu Survey District; thence generally westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of the said Section 8 to its southernmost corner; thence westerly along a right line to the confluence of the Roding River and United Creek; thence easterly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Section 15, Block IV aforesaid; thence generally easterly and southerly along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 15 to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 13, Block XII, Waimea Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary to the meridian of Botanical Hill; thence southerly along that meridian to the south-eastern corner of Block XII, Waimea Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the said Block XII to the eastern boundary of Section 11, Block XII aforesaid; thence southerly along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Block XVI, Waimea Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of the said Section 4 and the northern boundary of Section 2, Block XVI aforesaid, to its north-western corner; thence due west to the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block XVI aforesaid; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 1 and the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Section 9, Block XV, Waimea Survey District, to the north-eastern boundary of Section 104, Square 1; thence north-westerly to and along the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 104 and that boundary produced to the left bank of the Serpentine River; thence north-westerly along the left bank of the said Serpentine River to the northernmost corner of Section 101, Square 1; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the said Section 101, that boundary produced across a public road and again along the north-western boundary of the said Section 101 to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 3, Block XV aforesaid; thence westerly to and along that boundary to the eastern corner of Section 81, Square 1; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of the said Section 81 and the last-mentioned boundary produced to middle of the Lee River; thence generally westerly and northerly down the middle of the said Lee River and the middle of the Roding and Wairoa Rivers to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Clover Road West; thence south-easterly to and along the north-eastern side of the said Clover Road West to the north-western side of Pughs Road; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of the said Pughs Road to the eastern corner of Section 156, Waimea East District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 160, Waimea East District, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Richmond as described in Gazette, 1917, page 4194; thence south-easterly, north-easterly, and north-westerly along the boundary of that borough to the western boundary of Block VII, Waimea Survey District; thence due north for a distance of 100 chains along that boundary and the western boundary of Block III, Waimea Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF APPLEBY RIDING

All that area in the Nelson Land District situated in the Waimea County, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the western boundary of Block VII, Waimea Survey District, with the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Richmond as described in Gazette, 1917, page 4194, and proceeding north-westerly and south-westerly along the boundary of that borough to the southernmost corner of Section 160, Waimea East District; thence generally south-westerly and south-easterly along the boundary of the Waimea
