Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Bay of Islands Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 15 September 1930 and published in the Gazette, 25 September 1930, Volume III, page 2851.

Special Order Made by Kaikoura County Council Altering Riding Boundaries

———

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Kaikoura County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

At a special meeting of the Kaikoura County Council held in the Council Chambers on Friday, 15 May 1959, it was resolved by way of special order:

Pursuant to the powers vested in the Council by section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, to adjust the boundaries of the Suburban Riding and the Town Riding by transferring from the Town Riding into the Suburban Riding the area lying between the portion of the previous boundary between the two said ridings described in the First Schedule hereto and the portion of the new boundary between the said ridings described in the Second Schedule hereto, the new areas and descriptions of the Suburban Riding and the Town Riding being more particularly set out in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

THAT portion of the previous boundary of the Town Riding commencing at the south-east corner of Lot 37, D.P. 1034, continuing south-easterly across the Picton-Christchurch State Highway to the north-west corner of Section 9, Block XI, Mount Fyffe Survey District; thence south-easterly generally by the north-eastern boundaries of Section 9 aforesaid, Section 1 of 267, Kaikoura Suburban, Lots 5, 4, and part of Lot 3, D.P. 725, to the north-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 1597.

SECOND SCHEDULE

THAT portion of the new boundary between the Town Riding and the Suburban Riding (which said new boundary is described in the Third Schedule hereunder) commencing at the south-east corner of Lot 37, D.P. 1034, continuing easterly generally on a line formed by the production of the southern boundary of the said Lot 37 to a point in line with the centre line of Scarborough Street; thence generally south-easterly along the said centre line of Scarborough Street to its intersection
