NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSES OF SOIL CONSERVATION AND RIVER CONTROL
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments and in the matter of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 and its amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Manawatu Catchment Board intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of soil conservation and river control.
A plan of the said lands is deposited at the public office of the Manawatu Catchment Board in Messrs Manson and Barr’s Building, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands and to send such writing, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary of the Manawatu Catchment Board, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North.

WAITARA BOROUGH COUNCIL
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waitara Borough Council, at its meeting held on the 9th day of March 1955, has resolved to prepare for the Waitara Borough a district scheme as required by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.
Every person and every local authority in the district is hereby invited to submit any proposals which, in his or its opinion, should be considered in the preparation of the proposed scheme.
Proposals marked “Waitara District Scheme” should be addressed to the Town Clerk and delivered at the Town Clerk’s office on or before the 7th day of September 1959.
NOTE—Those persons or organisations who have previously submitted proposals need not again make submissions.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and amendments, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of thirty-eight thousand five hundred pounds (£38,500) to be known as the Drainage Additional Loan 1958, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of extending the works being carried out under the Waiatarua Drainage Loan 1955 (£111,500) to give urgently needed relief in the Greenlane area and the cost of engineering, supervising, and contingencies in the whole scheme and the cost of raising the loan, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one ninth of one penny (1/9 of 1d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Auckland, comprising the whole of the City of Auckland; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Wellington City Waterworks Reticulation and Treatment Loan 1959 of £178,000
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council on the 6th day of July 1959.
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of one hundred and seventy-eight thousand pounds (£178,000) to be known as the Wellington City Waterworks Reticulation and Treatment Loan 1959 of £178,000 authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing water reticulation in Johnsonville and Newlands areas and water-treatment plant and buildings for Wainuiomata and Orongorongo supplies, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of seventy-seven eight-hundredths of a penny (77/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
