KOWAI COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Worker's Dwelling Loan No. 2 (1959), of £3,000

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Kowai County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Kowai County Council under the above-mentioned Act for providing accommodation to staff, the said Kowai County Council hereby makes a special rate of one hundred and ninety-seven ten thousandths of a penny (197/10,000d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property of the County of Kowai comprising the whole of the County of Kowai; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly on the 15th day of June and the 15th day of December in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Kowai County Council held on 27 May 1959.

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of seventy thousand pounds (£70,000) authorised to be raised by the Manawatu County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out street and footpath improvements, stormwater drainage, and sanitation at Foxton Beach, within the County of Manawatu, the said Manawatu County Council hereby makes a special rate of thirty-eight one hundredths of a penny (0·38d.) in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Manawatu; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WAITAKI COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Omarama Hall Loan 1959, £4,000

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waitaki County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four thousand pounds (£4,000) authorised to be raised by the Waitaki County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a public hall at Omarama, the said Waitaki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·22d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of the special rating area comprising the Omarama Hall District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WAITAKI COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Kurow Water Supply Loan 1958, £14,000

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waitaki County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fourteen thousand pounds (£14,000) authorised to be raised by the Waitaki County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a gravity water supply and improving water reticulation at Kurow Township, the said Waitaki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1·895d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of the special rating area comprising the Kurow Water Supply District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

BRUCE COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Bridge Replacement Loan 1958, £20,000

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Bruce County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“'That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Bruce County Council for the purpose of renewing County bridges, the Council hereby makes a special rate of 1/16th of a penny in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the County; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly as the payments fall due in each and every half year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.''

The foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Bruce County Council on the 16th day of April 1958 and confirmed at a meeting on the 11th day of June 1958.

This notice corrects the notice of a special rate resolution published in Gazette, No. 38, dated 26 June 1958, at page 860 thereof.

EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Fire Engine Loan 1959, £3,000

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Eastbourne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“'That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of three thousand pounds (£3,000) authorised to be raised by the Eastbourne Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for purchasing a fire engine for the Eastbourne Urban Fire Authority, the said Eastbourne Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of point one five pence (.15d.) in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the whole of the Borough of Eastbourne; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.''

Passed at a special meeting of the Council held on 21 May 1959.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL

Pursuant to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Morrinsville taken on the 23rd day of May 1959 on the proposal of the Morrinsville Borough Council to borrow the sum of £26,000 for the purpose of constructing a new street and reconstructing two existing streets in the Borough:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was...... 170 The number of votes recorded against the proposal was...... 214 The number of informal votes was...... 6

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

GISBORNE CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and the Public Works Act, 1928.

Notice is hereby given that the Gisborne City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, the acquisition and development of land for housing, the construction of streets thereon and the provision of necessary services and amenities, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate in Fitzherbert Street, Gisborne, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Fitzherbert Street, Gisborne.
