In the matter of the Companies Act 1955 and in the matter of Mechanical Handling Ltd. (in liquidation).
THE liquidator of Mechanical Handling Ltd., which is being wound up voluntarily, doth hereby fix the 17th day of June 1959 as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 308 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved or, as the case may be, from objecting to such distribution.

PURSUANT to section 405 of the Companies Act 1955, Millars’ Timber and Trading Co. (Overseas) Ltd., incorporated in England with Head Office for New Zealand at 109 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, hereby gives notice that it will cease to have a place of business in New Zealand on the expiration of three months from the date of the first publication of this notice.
Timber formerly obtainable from the company may in future be obtained from Jarrah Hardwoods Ltd., 7 Devon Street, Dunedin.

In the matter of the Partnership Act 1908, Part II, and in the matter of a special partnership between Ernest Young Comrie, of Hastings, medical practitioner, and Robert James Comrie, of Hastings, farmer.
WE, Ernest Young Comrie, of Hastings, medical practitioner, and Robert James Comrie, of Waiwhare, Hawke’s Bay, farmer, hereby certify as follows:

We have entered into a special partnership within the meaning of Part II of the Partnership Act 1908.

The style of the firm under which the partnership is to be conducted is “R. J. Comrie and Co.”

The said Ernest Young Comrie, resident at Heretaunga Street East, Hastings, is the special partner and the said Robert James Comrie, resident at Waiwhare, Hawke’s Bay, is the general partner.

The special partner is contributing the sum of two thousand five hundred and fifty pounds and the general partner is contributing the sum of eight hundred and fifty pounds to the capital of the partnership.

The business of the partnership is that of farming.

The principal place at which the business of the partnership is to be transacted is at Waiwhare, Hawke’s Bay.

The said partnership is to commence on the 1st day of June 1959 and is to continue for a period of three years. If the partnership continues with the mutual consent of the partners thereafter, it shall be terminable by either of them upon three months’ notice in writing, but shall not in any event continue after the 31st day of May 1966.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 21st day of May 1959, cancelled the registry of Sacred Heart Branch, No. 660, a branch of the New Zealand District of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit Society (Register No. 198/80), held at Dargaville, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

THE CENTRAL WAIKATO ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
General Development Loan (1958), £168,250
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and its amendments and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Central Waikato Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of principal and the payment of interest and other charges on the Board’s General Development Loan (1958) of £168,250 authorised to be raised for the purpose of financing and developing the Board’s reticulation system for the benefit of the Central Waikato Electric Power District and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things which the Board is empowered to do by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925 and its amendments and by all other powers and authorities it enabling, the Central Waikato Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal 116 of a penny in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Central Waikato Electric Power District, as the same is defined by Proclamation published in the Gazette on the 27th day of July 1939 at page 2042; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable annually on the 15th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully repaid.”
The foregoing resolution was duly passed by the Central Waikato Electric Power Board at a meeting of the said Board held on the 20th day of May 1959.

WESTLAND ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Westland Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £119,000 authorised to be raised by the Westland Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing as a going concern the undertaking of Kanieri Electric Ltd., at Hokitika, and providing for improvements, the said Westland Electric Power Board hereby makes a special rate of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of Westland Electric Power District; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
Certified as a correct copy of a resolution passed by the Westland Electric Power Board on the 28th day of April 1959.
