Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SITUATED within Clutha County at Clydevale—
The Waiwera Railway Station - Clydevale Main Highway No. 236 (from a point 2 chains west of its junction with Lamburne Road to its junction with the Clydevale-Rongahere road).
The Clydevale-Rongahere road (from its junction with the Waiwera Railway Station - Clydevale Main Highway No. 236 to a point 6 chains north of the said junction).

Approval of Testing Officer Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Time and Place of Election by Fire Insurance Companies to Fill an Extraordinary Vacancy on the Fire Board for the Dunedin Metropolitan United Urban Fire District

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Tuesday, 26 May 1959, as the time, and the offices of the Otago and Southland Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Association, corner of Jetty and Crawford Streets, Dunedin, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the fire insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect a member on the Fire Board for the Dunedin Metropolitan United Urban Fire District.

Road Closed by Order of the Maori Land Court

PURSUANT to section 489 of the Maori Land Act 1931, the Maori Land Court, by an order made on 17 October 1953, declared the area of road described in the Schedule hereto to be closed and included in the title of the land known as Paeroa South B 2b Block.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of public road in the Rotorua County in the South Auckland Land District, situated in Block XI, Ngongotaha Survey District, and Block XIII, Paeroa Survey District, containing by admeasurement 49 acres 3 roods, more or less, being formerly part of Paeroa South B and now adjoining Paeroa South B 2, as shown on the plan marked L. and S. 36/2369 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon coloured green. Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Heretaunga Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 11 August 1931, and published in the Gazette, 20 August 1931, Volume II, page 2326.
